Posted June 14, 200618 yr I saw this on the CBS 4 News this morning. I was looking for a link, but I didn't find anything. Supposedly, Cuban had "Go Mavericks" on his boat. Arriola saw it and asked him to take it down, and if not, he would get the police involved. Cuban said that he had a right to have that on his boat. Now, I am no Mavs fan, but I think that what Arriola did was messed up. Cuban has a right to have whatever banner as he wishes on his boat. Arriola was telling the story with this big smirk on his face. What a jerk.

June 14, 200618 yr Author City Manger Joe Arriola, known for his courtside tantrums, flexed his political muscle Tuesday afternoon upon finding out Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was on a boat docked outside the American Airlines Arena, holding a ?Go Mavericks? sign. Arriola called police to make sure the boat brought down the sign. ?I sent my guys out there and told him if he didn?t take it down, I was going to have to remove his boat,? said Arriola. Cuban didn?t go out so easily. He then put the sign on the back of the boat, where it couldn?t be seen from the arena side, but Arriola says he had to tell Cuban to put the sign down twice more before he finally complied. ?Like people say, he?s the only Cuban we don?t allow in Miami.? Arriola's passion even reached constitutional proportions. ?This week if you root for the Mavericks, you lose your rights of free speech,? said Arriola. Thanks for the link, Admin.
June 14, 200618 yr Ahahahahaha. LMAO. :lol Thats wonderful. Can we finally put Joe Arriola in a prison now for suspending Free Speech? Please? Pretty please?
June 14, 200618 yr I'm really surprised Cuban did it. That guy is known for not complying with crap like this. I'll bet he does something funny in response, like has a plane fly overhead with a "Go Mavs" banner or something creative.
June 14, 200618 yr With a name like Arriola, you'd expect the guy to have a sense of humor. What a tool.
June 14, 200618 yr ?This week if you root for the Mavericks, you lose your rights of free speech,? said Arriola. What an ignorant piece of crap.
June 14, 200618 yr According to Cuban, it's not even his boat and he doesn't own one. http://www.blogmaverick.com/entry/1234000780073750/
June 14, 200618 yr wow. that almost makes me start rooting for dallas. The key word being almost :lol
June 14, 200618 yr There are times when I feel sports are underappreciated in this country, then there is this :glare ?Like people say, he?s the only Cuban we don?t allow in Miami.? I wonder what Fidel is thinking :mischief2
June 15, 200618 yr wow. that almost makes me start rooting for dallas. Ditto. Arriola is such a moron.
June 15, 200618 yr Team owners Micky Arison (Heat) and Mark Cuban (Mavs) didn't arrive by limo, helicopter or Range Rover. The millionaires both came by boat and docked on opposite sides of the arena. Cuban's Utopia II is nice enough -- if a bit modest, at 60 feet. Arison's Sirona III is a Shaq-sized monster, well more than 100 feet long. 'I think there's a little bit of boat envy goin' on,'' said Brad Morris, director of operations at the arena. ''I mean, compared to Arison's, Cuban's boat is pretty piddly.'' Morris said he heard Cuban had draped a ''Go Mavs'' banner across the boat earlier in the day and caused such a stir that the police were summoned. Oops. It wasn't there at game time. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sport...ll/14812347.htm
June 15, 200618 yr Arriola is not in the Miami organization. Oh what is he then? Miami City Manager :lol Wow what a f***ing moron.
