June 16, 200620 yr I know it's just a handful of games....but how do we take him out of the lineup even when Willingham comes back? Can he play CF? Do we platoon him with Hermida? What would you do if he continues his recent play?
June 16, 200620 yr You have to try him in CF. I know he's played RF before and Hermida has played CF, but I wouldn't like to see him move from RF. Why not give the kid a shot in CF and see how it goes? But I agree, he deserves to keep starting. Hell, Helms should be starting too. What a great bench we'll have regardless.

June 16, 200620 yr The Jones one fell because AA was playing deep as he should because Andruw is a homerun threat and the McCann floated was closer to Uggla and Hanley than it was to AA.
June 16, 200620 yr Worth a try putting Ross in center .... anyone know if he's played there before? I'm sure he can cover more ground than Willy or Hermida.... haven't seen enough of him to gague his reads & jumps & all that.

June 16, 200620 yr I usually try to be positive but in the case of Ross what goes up must come down. He wont be able to keep this pace up. Enjoy it while it lasts!
June 16, 200620 yr Amezaga is doing just fine in CF. He is batting over .300 and plays good defense. I'd leave Ross in LF even after Willingham comes back. Once he cools off, (hopefully not in a long time) then he can take turns with Willingham in left. Lets not forget Willingham was in a terrible slump when he went on the DL. Hopefully Jacobs can be the DH during inter-league games coming up and Helms will play 1st.
June 16, 200620 yr Actually Cody Ross plays all 3 positions. MAybe he hasn't as a major leaguer due to he's playing time and the fact that he's a rookie but he does. Just take a look at the depth chart on the Marlins website. My problem is does he have enough speed to cover CF in Joe Robbie.

June 16, 200620 yr Keep him in while he is hot...give Hammer all the time he needs to make sure he's back to 100% I'm just impressed he came back after getting hit in the face and in his first AB he hits a homer. Guy has some guts.

June 16, 200620 yr why not just put hammer at C and leave the outfield as is? Wasn't that the original plan anyway to develop hammer into a catcher
