Pierre, 29, is a .303 hitter over seven seasons with Colorado, Florida and the Chicago Cubs. He led the National League with 204 hits in 2006. The San Francisco Giants were also interested in Pierre, and had offered him a four-year deal in the $32-34 million range, a source said. good God
November 20, 200619 yr Wow, I think half of the years, and half of the money per year would've been overpaying, what the hell are the Dodgers thinking?
November 21, 200619 yr Money is just flying left and right. Is this god's way of taunting us for over achieving last year? :mischief2 Well GL to Juan, He is still in his 20's and can swip bases like crazy, I guess they just wanted to solve the CF position for a few more years, it's such a difficult location to fill so you can't blame them, but that is a LOT of money . . .
November 21, 200619 yr Good for him.....even if most of the Marlins fans think he's overrated...he's gonna spark that offense.
November 21, 200619 yr I guess some people on this board are a lot smarter than the people in the Dodgers FO...Good for him I am so glad he got his payday!

I guess "solve" is a relative term. Lofton and just about any "X" player to platoon with would be better than JP - certainly was better this past season. This is a dumb move by the Dodgers.
November 21, 200619 yr When I first saw the thread title I said "DAMNIT!!!!!" then I saw the terms of the deal and thought "holy mother of god........" :lol
November 21, 200619 yr I'm glad he got his payday, but those numbers are ridiculous. Sad theme of the season.
November 21, 200619 yr Cant see any other signing worse than this for 2007 forward. Still, I love the guy and am glad he's getting paid.
