June 21, 200719 yr I don't know if this has been posted already or if it has any truth to it, but I'd hate to see Boone go. http://www.twincities.com/walters/ci_6181525
June 21, 200719 yr Boone has been doing pretty well, why the hell would they trade him for another minor league pitcher?
June 21, 200719 yr What a steal Boonee was for us...This is a guy no one wanted and now he's been damn productive..
June 21, 200719 yr Just looks like someone thinking out loud. Otherwise, who is he suggesting we get? Never mentions any prospects-is he assuming we will just take a mediocre minor leaguer?
June 21, 200719 yr I would do it for the right player. The Twins have a really strong minor league system, and someone like Eduardo Morlan would be nice.
June 21, 200719 yr The Marlins don't need to trade Boone unless they get something good because he plays cheap. Also, when Jacobs gets back at least the Marlins will finally have a good pinch hitter on the bench.
June 21, 200719 yr It wouldn't make sense to trade him now. The Mets have just reopened the door to the NL East Pennant, and I think Boone will be much more valuable to our pennant run than he will be as a trading chip.
June 21, 200719 yr And if my wife had wheels, she'd be a bicycle. The writer obviously has no sense about value & timing. (puts on IGNORE button)
June 21, 200719 yr do u think we can get rid of borchard too, if this deal goes through. Deal wont happen... But lets hope they do get rid of JoBLOW
June 21, 200719 yr Id do it for 2B Brian Dinkleman, RHP Adam Hawes, and OF Brandon Roberts.(not these 3 specifically but 3 players of their ilk)
June 21, 200719 yr LOL give me Garza if not.. I'll pass Boone has been doing a great job and Jacobs has to continue to stay healthy, otherwise the loss of Boone wouldn't be worth it.
June 22, 200719 yr I've read Charley "Shooter" Walters a lot over the years. It seems like Charley(St.Paul Pioneer Press) and Sid Hartman(Mpls. Star Tribune) try to out do each other as far as starting rumors and getting the scoop first. Neither one(IMO) has a very high success rate. They can be fun to read though, if you don't take them seriously. Although I could see Boone traded(and some others) if we're out of the playoff race. Charley was a relief pitcher in the Twins organization 30-40 years ago. he had a "cup of coffee" in the majors. True story: A couple years back, Charley wrote about Joel Pryzbilla leaving the Gophers and that, as a result of Joel leaving, the Gophers would be down to 12 BB scholarships, without an available one to recruit with. I e-mailed him, stating the list of players coming back. I then asked who would be getting Joel's scholarship. He replied that math wasn't one of his strong suits.
June 22, 200719 yr Garza or Slowey for Boone? Not gonna happen in a million years. Don't be "that" fan who makes the ridiculous trade proposals. I thought I was being too optimistic by hoping for a talented two pitch Single A relief pitcher.

I thought I was being too optimistic by hoping for a talented two pitch Single A relief pitcher. Which is why I wouldn't want a trade to happen...if a team is going to trade something of value for a 1B/3B, they're going to trade for somebody with more value then Boone. If somebody is going after Boone, the chances of them actually giving up somebody valuable is slim .
June 22, 200719 yr Until Boone ceases to have more value to the team than he'll return in a trade I see no reason to fantasize over a move.

I'd give Boone & one of our young arms (like Marceaux, Tucker, or even Sinkbeil) up for someone like Slowey.
June 22, 200719 yr I just went to the Twins message boards, there was nothing about him or the Marlins other than a thread I started on how did it feel when their stadium deal got announced.
