Nolasco stepped up huge in his last big matchup (vs Webb), let's see if he can do it again.

Miller has basically done the same thing though.

We don't have a "most reliable" SP this year. They either aren't good enough, or are too inexperienced.

 

The best of this bunch will end up being Andrew Miller, imo.

 

I still see Scott Olsen as "most reliable" on the staff this year, if we had to choose someone.

yeah

fact is, Olsen had 1 TERRIBLE START against the Giants.

 

Aside from that, he's been better than Nolasco all year, and people are just giving Nolasco credit for a non-quality start (5 IP, 3 ER) against the Mets b/c the Mets are "the team he struggles against." Yet Olsen went 5 and allowed 4 ER (not much worse), and allowed less baserunners than Nolasco did.

 

Nolasco outdueled Webb; aside from that, there hasn't been anything special in his starts. Olsen, on the other hand, has done that multiple times, this year.

Obviously, our pitching haz been embarrassing, Scotty and Hendrickson were the 2 pitchers saving us and our bullpen but recently all of them have been sucking and because of that we are losing. JJ, Anibal and Mitre would give us a stable all around team. Hendrickson would become our 5th pitcher instead of our ace, that would make a hug e difference.
