6/3 Postgame thread

Featured Replies

Good seeing Badenhop settle down after giving up those three runs in the first inning. Too bad he couldn't win the game. This bullpen has become a piece of sh*t. Learn how to do your damn jobs and start getting outs. Most importantly- learn to hold a goddamned lead! This is ridiculous.

I might get an ulcer if they keep playing like this.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

I can't do anything else but laugh.

I wish i could Holly, i am weeping, the bullpen is really stinking it up as of lately.

I don't even know where to start. Offense is doing their job at least.

We should've won both these games.

Yea, but it seems like one person does most of it. Ex: Uggla. He drove in three of the four runs tonight. This offense needs to stop depending on one person to pick them up.

*ends vent*

Freddi Gonzalez went against the #'s and it cost him, in the 8th, just like it cost him on Sunday, pitching to Burrell with 1B open, and the much worse, Pedro Feliz on deck.

...and the bullpen blows it, again. I guess this happens when you have mediocre starts, on a consistent basis. Yeah...it does have something to do with it.

While it may be easy to look at Fredi here, this is really a result of 2 years of 5 IP from starters.

This bullpen's production was just not sustainable with the workload it has received.

That being said, I would just like us to settle on a setup man. Miller began the year well, the poof he disappeared and Pinto appeared. Pinto has now disappeared and Lindstrom is now in. We seem to switch each month. Personally, I've just never really trusted Lindstrom and Pinto should have gone out for the 8th.

Bottom line: We need SP. Period.

Just glad it's a day game tomorrow.

So where are all the people that insisted after last night that Lindstrom should be the closer?

Point is, we have no real closer. Lindstrom wouldn't be any better than Gregg.

Well, we were winning until the 7th, and then...poof!, the lead evaporated. We shouldn't be too shocked though, it should be expected from this team during this roadtrip. The bullpen, after being so good, has lost us 5 out of 6 of the games we've lost. Something's gotta give, but what?

Badenhop threw 5 innings...once again, a non-quality start from a starting pitcher. Once again, the bullpen has to go 3-4 innings in a game.

The bullpen isn't doing its job, but the starters haven't done it, all year.

And just like it cost him last night when he IBB'd Kelly Johnson to get to Yunel Escobar.

I'm still here.

I bumped the thread for everyone, and everything.

I still want Gregg gone by the offseason, at the latest.

He's called Joe Nelson

sums it up pretty well.

yep...

wow idk wat to say anymore besides that i kind of had the feeling they would do it again.

I guess all you can do is come out in a few hours and try to win but with hendrickson on the mound that doesnt seem so likely

The good thing is that it's not the same guy carrying them everyday which means it's a pretty solid offense. Our main problem all year has been the starting pitching and now the bullpen is starting to show signs of fatigue because of it. Let's all hope and pray that Volstad and Tucker get called up soon and they're able to eat up innings.

Ultimately this is the failure of the front office. They did not do enough to upgrade the starting pitching in the offseason. We literally have no good MLB ready starting pitchers.

You don't call up rookie pitchers to eat innings, Mr. Baker.
