May 10, 200917 yr lol... but they still lost. :thumbdown http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/media/vid...tent_id=4501049
May 10, 200917 yr Just to rub it in even more, he did it with a pink bat since it's Mother's Day (or as Russell Brand called it on Twitter earlier, MILF Day) lol.
May 11, 200917 yr Joba's fist pump has been bashed so much, for no reason. If you're gonna bash him, bash Papelbon and KRod, as well.

May 11, 200917 yr Don't forget valverde with the stros. He's the worst one. I want to hit him with a tire iron sometimes, and he's the closer for one of my teams! I especially hate it with those closers who have a 3 run lead, give up 2 runs, put 2 more guys on base, and get saved on a lucky webgem and do their taunt.
May 11, 200917 yr K-Rod is the one that annoys me the most but maybe it is just because he is a Met. I never really took notice of his antics when he was on the Angels.

May 11, 200917 yr Hope Huff has quick reflexes.....Joba will remember that I bet he will, punks usually do.

Team down by a few, he gives up a couple hits but manages to get strike 3 to finish the side, you'd think he won the World Series. I hate all that showboat sh*t.
May 11, 200917 yr Anyone see Papelbon after last night's save? It looked like he was fighting an invisible army barehanded.
May 11, 200917 yr Author Joba's fist pump has been bashed so much, for no reason. If you're gonna bash him, bash Papelbon and KRod, as well. Not sure if this post is intended at me but I LOVE IT. I love when Reyes does all his celebrations, I love what KRod does on the mound especially when he had the sick goggles. I don't particularly care for what Joba/Pap does because I do not root for them at all but it doens't make me upset. I think it's emotion, joy for the game. Now, Joba and Pap may come off as smug but you really think Reyes is an asshole? You think KRod is an asshole? I don't.

I, personally, don't mind any of it. Just saying the media is making such a big deal about Joba when there are others that do it, as well.
May 11, 200917 yr I didn't see the Boston game last night but I read that Papelbon had a 1 run lead and had baserunners at 1st and 3rd with 0 outs before striking out 3 in a row to save the game. I would fully understand an expressive show of emotion after a situation like that. Likewise, I have no problem with golfers punching the air after holing a crucial putt. However if Joba is fist pumping after every strikeout then that is definately excessive and to be honest, there is no need for it.

May 11, 200917 yr I don't really see a problem with it. I agree with Schnellders, it is fine as long as it is not done excessively. Every once in a while in a crucial situation, a fist pump here or there is a good thing. A lot of people say it is showing up the opponent. Ken Singleton yesterday said "If you don't like it, just beat them".
May 11, 200917 yr The one that gets on my nerves the most is Papelbon. I hate that little smug face he does after he's done punching invisible midgets in front of him. A celebration, that's good...but he's yelling like he's rallying Spartan troops. He was showboating like if he struck out Pujols. He's a good closer, dont take it from him, but he's annoying as f***. K-Rod is too, but with those kind of movements he does when he's pitching it kind of seems inevitable that he's going to have that excitement. Reyes is just a whiner.
May 11, 200917 yr What is most interesting to me is that those fist pumps are usually done by closers. Who really never have to go up to bat, not even in the NL. If a starter overdoes it with that in the NL he runs the risk of getting hit on his next AB. So really showboating closers are really just a bunch of punks.

I agree thats why all pitchers need to hit, you show up the other team on the mound you get drilled, your teammate shows someone up they get drilled. I mean one in the ribs/back, no headshots just do your job. Just read about the dust up between Dodgers Blake and Giants Wilson that one is another example of the excessive crap, again just do your job. One of my favorite players to see hit a HR is Treanor he just runs the bases and gets back to the dugout thats all you need to do.
