cam is absolutely on fire. we need to bring him up asap and have him take the cf job. the great thing is he is not lacking in one area right now stat wise. he has improved everything and he should be a great one. can you imagine a lineup in a few years that contains hanley stanton cam morrison and dominguez? with a up and coming pitching staff and the way beinfest always puts together a great bullpen, we are in amazing shape.

and morrison must have some great patience because everytime i look it seems as if he has 2 walks each game

Good night by Skipworth, too. He really needs to pick it up, so any good game from his so far should be a blessing.

Two strikeouts is a good night?

when you are batting below .200, going 1-4 with a home run translates to a .250 average on his part that day, actually better than what he has done this season. So yeah it is a very good day by his standards.

It doesn't work like that.

By his standards, almost anything would be a good day. He's not going to develop much if he keeps on striking out every other PA.

He's also facing predominantly 22-24 year old pitchers who have been professionals for 3-4 seasons or in major college programs, plus a lot of journeymen AA types who have a few tricks up their sleeves. The fact he is doing anything is a real good indicator of success. I'm thrilled with a .250/.330/.475 line as a 19 year old in AA. He's developing just fine. Even if he's in AA all the rest of this year and next year, and then makes it to AAA in 2011, that's still awesome.

...

MarlinsLou, you may be a little mistaken. Me and Fish Dynasty were discussing Skipworth, not Stanton

EDIT: and I will correct myself, Skipworth is hitting .208, and a .603 OPS in the gulf coast league is pretty pathetic.

You are talking about Stanton not Skipworth right?

I was talking about Skipworth.

Two strikeouts is bad, but a home run, Two Rbis, and two runs is a good night.

When he can hit a home run without striking out multiple times, then it will be a good night.

Yeah...dreadful performance. I wonder if a change in his mechanics is needed?

My bad. I had a brain freeze and went into instant Stanton defense.

I have nothing to say in defense of Skipworth! Hail Marys is about it.
