Honestly I think whoever titled that article he wrote was being a little unfair, because the actual article was evenhanded for the most part. It's unlikely, from my experience, that Ringolsby himself titled that article. Usually one of the editors is responsible for that. He isnt a hall of famer, he won the Spink award for sports writers, which is presented by the hall of fame on a yearly basis. He has never been inducted into the hall of fame, he just won the award in 2005. Trust me, they are still considered HOFers even though they aren't grouped with the players/umps/execs/pioneers. Same with the broadcasters.

If he pitches like we know he can we have a duo that can only be rivaled by Lincecum-Cain and Carpenter-Wainwright. Thats why I think adding Smoltz could only be a good thing.

I don't really expect too much even if we do make the playoffs givin the way the Yankees and Dodgers are playing. We have too many Andrew Millers, Sean Wests and Rick VandenHurk's on this team. Not to mention the lack of a true closer. I mean does anyone really have any confidence in our bullpen with anyone not named Leo Nunez?? Lets be real here, the Marlins are on a fun ride right now and were all loving the whole every 6 years discusson, but I don't see it happening this year. Good job to the Fish though for doing what they've done with very little. Having to play in that abysmil football stadium with 12,000 fans a night in the atrocious Florida summers with a far below average salary. I still enjoy watching games when I can.

As long as we can keep our good starters (JJ, Nolasco) and add in a few others that are decent, we'll be damn good for the foreseeable future.
