What else can we expect from a team whose payroll is like 5 bucks? This is why you can always count the fans in the stands and why we'll be watching teams we don't give a sh*t about in the playoffs for a sixth consecutive year.

You're the worst kind of fan.

At least I leave my house from time to time. :D

Same here. I just don't sleep, clinical insomnia will do that to ya. But even if I didn't, at least I don't suck.

man this happens every year its like the life of the team gets sucked out.

we had that 9 game win streak last year and we will need something like that again....5 back with 31 left....what a f***ing waste.

Hey, at least Coghlan got 3 more hits tonight. His OPS Is now .823. Unfortunately, Mccutchen is just as hot as Coghlan is, and his OPS is .857.

Amazing what he's done the past month or so.

Sanchez is still having a lot of control problems. I thought he would have worked this out in the minors, but apparently not.

He broke a record, I think. Most hits in a month by a Marlin player, with 46. And, the 3rd most hits in a month by a rookie.

Yeah, his 47 hits in August is a Marlins record for one month. Amazingly enough he was competing with one of his teammates the whole time (Hanley had 45).

wpw, would you look at that. i said we should get padilla, i was an idiot though according to you. last i checked hes been pretty good. i said we should get penny in july, i was an idiot then, but now when he was looking t signing with us, he was a great fit.

so its not like this is just happening. this team is going nowhere unless they add quite a few veterans in the rotation, lineup, and bullpen

Well am glad i fell asleep in the 7th.

I am pretty sure now that more needed to be done at the trade deadline and waiver wire to get this team to the PO. Im so tired of this team always playing more for the future than now.

Exactly.

Oh well, at least we have 2010. I'm hoping we can have a healthy Cantu, Coghlan full-time, and Hanley playing like he's done this year.

Our starting rotation is a mess, though.

There's a major difference between trading for Penny and signing Penny to a pro-rated portion of the league minimum. You'd be out of your mind to give up anything for Penny back in July with the way he was pitching and the stats what they were. Not only would Penny have cost us a player or two, but he also would have cost a lot more monetarily. Getting Penny wasn't a bad idea, trading for Penny was a bad idea.

I think it's a longshot to project this team as a contender next year if we don't look outside of our organization for pitching. Our MLB-ready pitching prospects are relievers so what we have now is pretty much what we're going to have next year unless we buy some Free Agents. This team's stance on pitching is so stupid. They seem to expect that we'll win with our own pitching prospects alone.

Pinto needs to stop being used in close games. Why can't Fredi realize this?

Yeah, this. I practically crashed my car when I heard on the radio that Fredi had brought Pinto into a 1-run game in the 8th when everyone else (pretty much) was available.
