canada-marlin24
Ok great game by JJ and solid inning by leo. hopefully everyone else loses and we can stop making our losses so disheartening and maybe win some of those games. need the day off and then go into baltimore and hopefully hand it to them. It's nice to win the season series against one of the best teams in the league now lets take at least 2 from the Orioles and go on that win streak we need. dom2613
JJ is a beast. Hopefully the rest of the NL East loses. I'm still not giving up on this season.

canada-marlin24
these f***ing braves....get out of a bases loaded nobody out jam in the 8th with the 1-2-3 of the royals lineup and then score 3 with 2 outs and no one on in the bottom half. so basically we needed to sweep the best team in baeball to not lose a game. BafflingBeerman
The Marlins would have to try very hard to lose the games JJ pitches. I mean, they have lost games JJ pitched, but they tried very hard to lose those games

Luck of the trade. The Braves have one of the easier schedules at the moment while the Marlins have one of the toughest.
Schnellders
Yet again, JJ was simply outstanding. Now 8 starts in a row where he has given up 0 or 1 earned runs. A-m-a-z-i-n-g
mystikol87
I hope people appreciate watching JJ. It's not too often you have a top 5 pitcher in all of baseball on your team. He's become easily of the same calibre as Hanley Ramirez and of Miggy when he was here.

The worse thing is that JJ should easily have 12 wins x2. He should have some consideration for the Cy Young. However, the bullpen loves to blow his wins and I don't see that helping his case; even with the ridiculous ERA. Jiminez just needs to have a bad outing or two and raise his ERA some. There are certainly a lot of spectacular guys

Michael
I wish he could pitch every 4th day. I wish he could pitch every day. I wish he could pitch every inning. I do too, but in that sense, batters would be so used to him, they'd not only be hitting him all the time, but from the amazing ability that he possesses, there will be .375 batting averages all around the league because so many pitchers are lesser to he. Erick
It all depends how you judge a pitcher. If you're looking at basic statistics this year, Ubaldo Jimenez is the best thus far, but if you factor in advanced statistics as well, one could certainly make a case that Josh Johnson might just be the best pitcher in baseball, this year. As great as Ubaldo Jimenez stuff is, he's never had a year like this, and his current numbers suggest he won't continue at this pace (of course, it's almost impossible to continue the near perfection he's had this year, but whatever). What I'm saying though is that it's important to look at everything because if you're just basing things on ERA (like the idiots on ESPN, etc.), you'd think that Jaime Garcia is one of the best pitchers in baseball, too. Maybe but he's definitely top 5. Of the top of my head guys that have been dealing this season are Ubaldo Jimenez, Phil Hughes, Josh Johnson, Jaime Garcia, Adam Wainwright, Matt Cain (:banghead), Tim Hudson and Roy Halladay. You can throw Price in there besides yesterdays start.
Erick
If you ask me, there are only 2 pitchers this year who have been more impressive than Josh Johnson. Their names are Ubaldo Jimenez and Cliff Lee. Cliff Lee is the most underrated pitcher in baseball at the moment, imo.

His K/BB ratio is 16.75. The next best guy this year is Roy Halladay who came into today's game at 5.63. Lee has a 1.90 FIP this year; he should only get better, once he's traded at the trade deadline to a better team, as well. Hence the reason I traded Ubaldo Jimenez in fantasy, and picked up Lee as one of the pieces in return. :cool
