Marlins win 7-5

Ricky Nolasco: (W, 6-6) 4 ER 8 K 8 H 2 HR

Brian Sanches: Hold(6) 1 IP 1 R 1 K

Leo Nunez: SV 15: 1 IP 1 K 0H 0 R

Jorge Cantu 2-5HR 2 RBI

Gaby Sanchez 3-5 HR 2RBI

Chris Coghlan 3-5 1 R 2 RBI

2B: Coghlan (15,16) Paulino (12,13)

HR: Sanchez (8) Cantu (10)

It's great to see the offense really heating up as of late even if it is against the Orioles but hey they are a Major League team with Major League players.

Jorge Cantu seems to be back on track after his hit last night to break up a long 0'fer and Gaby Sanchez and Chris Coghlan are red hot. I believe both of them are batting over .285 now which is great to see from the top of the order.

A win is a win and I'll take it even though it could have gotten ugly a couple of times with Nolasco, who did a great job bouncing back and digging out a solid 7 innings after two early HR's, and Brian Sanches who manged to get out of trouble with minimal damage.

Keep the streak rolling and lets get over that .500 mark tomorrow.

Gotta give it to Gaby. He's been on fire lately.

Coghlan and Gaby are really clicking together.

Im not making a direct comparison here... but a lot like JP and Louie, I like having a good 1-2 punch at the top of the lineup. Lets hope this little duo keeps clicking.

Ahh crap, Gaby just said Edwin is a lot like Fredi, lmao... Loria must be livid. lol

Gaby above .300, Cogs at .290. Who saw this coming last month?

Not to burst anybody's bubble buy Coghlan is only at .280 and Gaby's at .299 but I agree i didn't expect this about 6 or 7 weeks ago.

They need to keep it up if we want to keep winning.

Oh and today's win means we've won back to back series, lets keep that going.

P.S.

Coghlan hitting .405 now in June and Gaby's hitting .372 behind him.

wasnt able to see the game cuz i had a game of my own but a very big win with all the events today.

what is so annoying is that ricky actually started off the year really well and has just been in a tailspin with an ERA near 5 and giving up crazy home runs totals.

he really needs to go a few starts without giving some up.

Gotta go with Ricky. Put a bad inning behind him and turned in seven strong, saving most of the pen.

Congrats to Edwin. Can't complain about the management other than maybe the steal in the 9th but with the lead against an OFer playing catcher, why not?

I'm thinking that was Coghlan's decision.

The only thing he did that bothered me was what every other big league manager does that bothers me. We have a horrible bullpen; why can't Leo Nunez come in and try to get the last out in the 8th inning, from time to time?

Just thought I'd point out that Gaby is now at 1.5 WAR, a +1.3 UZR, and 30th in OPS in the National League.

This is really awesome for a club-controlled guy making $400k

And Coghlan's OPS is up to .750. With the way he's hitting he'll be back around .800 again soon.

I noticed that, too. He's ranked 7th in the NL, ahead of Ryan Howard. In fact, he's second in our division, behind Adam Dunn.

The top two guys are definitely hitting very well. Gaby looks like he might be assuring himself to be a part of this team's future, at least in the next few years.

Gaby continues to impress. If only Matt Dominguez could speed up his development and the Marlins could keep the power of Hanley and Uggla up the middle to offset the power drop at the corners. Oh, to dream...
