May 8, 201115 yr Decided to go to a friends house in the 6th. Looks like I made the right choice. With the exception of the first inning Volstad did well. Something needs to be done with Hanley. Move him back to lead off. Shake things up for him. Also gotta get a real every day 3rd basemen. Love Dobbs but I doubt his production continues and Helms is only good off the bench vs lefties if that.

But 2 double play gifts that we turned one total out on didn't help either. And Helms had nothing at all to do with those. Could have been a totally different ball game. Oh well. Woulda/coulda/shoulda.

Its like the thesaurus for the uneducated or for the normal white guy wanting to expand his vocabulary to sound more street, such as my self. As far as the game review, Volstad had a semi good outing, would have been an awesome defensive play if he beat the runner with the throw. At this point the FO can't treat Hanley like a favorite, he needs a shakeup bad. Hitting sucked and our winning streak when hitting a home run came to an end and Helms happened. Overal this thread between erick and LC is more interesting then the game.

May 8, 201115 yr The only guy getting on base at the top is Bonifacio. However, the Nats are a better team pitching wise then we give them credit for. The Marlins did score a lot of runs against Cincy and St. Louis.

He made a much tougher full out diving play to save Nolasco and the Marlins on Friday or it would not have even gone to extra inns in that game. Your right woulda/coulda/shoulda That's one play I was thinking of (I couldn't believe the ruling on that one either). He did another a little later in the game. Running too far towards 2nd when he could have tossed it instead and probably started a double play. From where I was, it looked like he had control of the ball, runner wasn't in the way when he first gloved it, and Hanley was moving into position. Just took a couple extra steps. Don't think that really led to any scoring, but..... No doubt, Gaby's defense has improved quite a bit since April of last year. And having Perry has helped alot. He makes some nice plays, and then seems to have "flashbacks", or whatever one wants to call them. Not a bash on him as it is evident he is improving. Just that I put so much emphasis on the defensive capabilities of the 1B position.
