Ballpark Tailgating Question

Featured Replies

Hello im a long time reader but I never really posted on here, I recently purchased a 20 game pack with 4 friends and we were surprised at the parking situation. The rep told us that the only tailgating that is allowed is on the surface lots, and today I received a call from another rep saying that the surface lots might not even be created anymore (Before it was only available to premium ticket holders). So I was just wondering if anyone has any information in regards to tailgating at the stadium? In my opinion I think its a bad move if there is no tailgating allowed since its an integral part of attending sporting events.

How can u tailgate in a closed parking garage? When we used to go to canes games we would tailgate in people's yards we parked in.

You cant tailgate in the parking garages, which is basically the question here. If they allow private lots near by, like a block or two away, you can tailgate all you want in those.

That was my point.

if anyones ever been to Canes games...you'll know there's plenty of tailgating/partying going on in the streets around and more specifically...the yards of people you park in. got to know the owner of my "parking lot" fairly well...she let me and two or three other cars park there routinely. It was almost like the feeling you get when you sit with season ticket holders and get to know the people around you only it was parking.

Can't tailgate in a close garage. Surface lots you will be allowed too; However, they are first come, first serve. Starting with FULL season ticket holder, 41 game plans, 20 game plans... etc etc etc. Surface lots might gone before you have the chance to get it. They are very very small lots

Obviously there will be no tailgating in the garages just the surface lots, but the rep said surface lots may not even be created anymore.

And yes tailgating at baseball games, you've never seen people tailgate the past seasons? Do you get to the games in the third inning when everyone is inside? lol

lol sounds like someone who couldn't get Heat tickets and decided to pull that crap at a baseball game instead.

Lmao, why so much hostility in this board? I asked a simple question for someone who may have information on the topic, and instead I get a bunch of smartass remarks

Welcome to the board, that's pretty much how it is.

Yep, the Playground Crew likes to take over.

But.....Last time we were in the area I couldn't even see where the other lots would be. At least of any kind of size. Granted, we don't cruise the area, but mostly what I see are apt buildings and stores of one kind or another. Also, if you think about it, if one of the reasons for a new stadium there was to help "rejuvinate" that area then you don't do that by leveling stores and putting in parking lots. Looks like tailgating is a thing of the past to be forgotten, like they want our history to be forgotten. With the exception of those two Championship flags. Even more believable is they don't want you to eat and drink BEFORE entering the place. Spend the $$$ inside.

i've been to a few stadiums over the years and never saw anyone tailgating before a baseball game. i'm not saying it doesn't happen, but i've never seen it before the game starts.

Can't say I remember tailgating at a baseball game, but I don't see why not. Ballpark beer is obscenely overpriced, which is why I smuggled my own beer into a Spring Training ballpark for an entire month this year.

You don't find serious tailgating at ballparks located in these types of heavily urbanized areas (where the Marlins ballpark will be located). Urban parks are designed to hit up bars and restaurants before the game at costs lower than you will find inside the ballpark.

For real tailgating you need to go to a place like Milwaukee where the park is far removed from the heart of the city and there is nothing surrounding the stadium except for surface lots.
