Our offense is not as good as any offense in the division if you actually go by statistics.

By statistics, you mean in an injury-riddled, completely down year for half the offense?

This offense now can stack up against any other team in this division.

That's some nice speculation there.

It can't?

Our offense is not as good as any offense in the division if you actually go by statistics.

Also, Beurhle is just replacing Vazquez, so we are basically back to square one.

FAIL. Vasquez who sucked for half the year, and then dominated the 2nd half of season is not Mark Buerhle....

You've got 1/10th of this guy's posts and you already make more sense than he does.

Good work!

Which one is better? And please, use statistics.

Do your own homework.

Do you know nothing about making an argument? You actually have to make it. If you are saying this is true, go ahead and prove it. Until then, it just shows how full of it you are.

I'm going to assume you know nothing except for the fact that you know nothing.

Is it too late to throw in a nomination for Troll of the year?

Sadly, yes.

Don't forget to vote!

Maybe a write-in, then. Extra sparkly.

Signing high-priced free agents is kind of pointless when it just bumps us up to third place in the NL East instead of dead last.

Dude, give it up with the third place. You've already said it.

I don't see how we are third in the East. Maybe the Phils have a better rotation as of RIGHT NOW, but the Fish aren't done. We just finished up with the winter meetings...the complete puzzle has not been assembled yet. I am assuming we are going out and getting another top notch pitcher by trading away Gaby/Lomo in a package. Any trade involving our all-star 1B or LoMo (loads of potential), should bring us a solid #2-3 guy. If Josh Johnson performs for an entire season, he will show baseball he is the best pitcher in the game. Our #1 is better than any other #1 in the league, including pitchers in the AL like CC. We may still be behind the Phils (slightly) as far as pitching depth goes, but we have the best line-up in the NL and should score tons of runs. I'm not even going to discuss the Braves being ahead of us because that is just a waste of time. Position for position they may have the upper hand at the catching position, but that's really about it. CF could be an issue for us if Boni doesn't perform, but thats it. We will be able to find a CF at the deadline or pick up Cespedes once he becomes available. On paper, we are right behind the Phils and it just happens to be that they are in our division. The 3 best NL teams are in the East and I wouldn't be surprised to see all 3 of us make the playoffs. I'm telling you, if we add Prince OR Cespedes we will win the pennant. JJ will win the Cy Young, Stanton will lead the league in HR, and Hanley/Reyes will win the batting title (assuming Ozzie gets through to H2R). Might as well go ahead and lock up Stanton for ten years at whatever it takes, too. If we had all that money to throw at Pujols, then give it to our future HOF, Stanton.

Here's the offense for the NL East based on what we know so far. Forgive me if I made a mistake or two. Make some arguments.

Man, when is Chipper going to hang it up already? 2012 should be his "This Is It" tour.

But yeah, overall, we have the most complete team offensively in the division -- at least on paper right now.

Braves CF'er is Michael Bourn; SS is supposedly going to be some guy they're bringing up from the minors.

Mets CF/RF is Andres Torres/Lucas Duda.

Bernadina is the Nats CF'er, I think.

But yeah, either way, that's pretty much it. Man, our offense is so weak compared to those offensive juggernauts.

The Braves have a very good offense as well and they beat us in Catcher, 1B, and 2B. Possibly CF. We beat them every where else.

Of course, I'm just saying sh*t to keep this moving along for discussion.

thanks.

I've been quietly enjoying the excitement of this offseason. It's been great to see what the Marlins have been attempting to do. I'm especially glad we got Reyes and Bell. I haven't had much opportunity to post much these days but I've been checking the site for the progress of the offseason whenever I can. Can't wait till baseball season arrives!

Got Mark Buehrle, too - sorry, forgot to mention in our convos :x
