July 29, 201213 yr Eovaldi looks composed for a rook. He ain't scared. Going after hitters like it's nobody's business. Lively fastball, nice deceptive breaking pitch, cutter has potential but needs work. Nice debut.
July 29, 201213 yr How can you give bell the job back? His last 6 appearances... 0 ER 2 H or something like that, I'm not in the mood to look it up.
July 29, 201213 yr Author How can you give bell the job back? His last 6 appearances... 0 ER 2 H or something like that, I'm not in the mood to look it up. Nicely done. 6 games, 6 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 4 GF. HE STILL NEEDS TO EARN IT, THOUGH!
July 29, 201213 yr He has a lot of pitches. Great fastball and slider, good curve, and a cutter and change that'll get worked on.
July 29, 201213 yr The guy looks ligit... 95 fastball 92 cutter and good looking slider/curve. Never know with prospects but he has the stuff!
July 29, 201213 yr I don't like to take credit but you're all welcome for the win tonight. Happy Eovaldi Day!
July 29, 201213 yr I'm pleasantly surprised that Ozzie hasn't been using Bell in save situations yet.
July 29, 201213 yr Nice debut for Eovaldi. Think he has a lot of potential, but gotta be carefully optimistic-it was just one game. With the Marlins offense so gutted right now, I'd be a lot more excited for a versatile player who could hit with power. Team really needs offense and is really lacking in the power department (outside of Stanton).
July 29, 201213 yr Logan Morrison continued to slide down the batting order Saturday, dropping to seventh. He went into the game batting. .231, including 0-for-13 on the homestand. “He keeps swinging like that, he’ll be my bench coach,’’ manage Ozzie Guillen said. “What do you expect? The guy is has one hit in his last 17 at-bats. I don’t see any improvement. I don’t see any better at-bats and I’ve got to give my team the best chance we can, especially the way we are right now.’’
July 29, 201213 yr First time we scored more than 3 runs in 12 days! It's because the rookie was talking about how he didn't get any run support in detroit.

July 29, 201213 yr Eovaldi is at best a borderline 2. Most likely a 3/4 guy. Disagree. He has no doubt TORP stuff. He's going to be a solid number 2, very good number 3. Definitely not a #4

Definitely not a #4 it depends on his control of his curve, and his cutter. The curve was hung a few times, and wasn't consistently a strike. The cutter has to be able to be spot on that inside corner. If he does one of those two things he becomes a solid 2, if he figures out both pitches he is a potential ace.

The thing kid he looks like he already has that cutter down. It looks like he's pretty comfortable with it just about anywhere
July 29, 201213 yr I think the only thing we could reliably bank on is that he'll be able to earn a spot in the rotation sometime in the future. That doesn't mean he'll be an ace or even a #2, it just means that he'll be a solid pitcher to put somewhere in the rotation.
