That feel.

Recommended Posts

That feel when I grow up a die-hard Marlins fan since 95', only to be miserably let down as usual after all the hype and excitement I've had for the last two years over the new park and uni's.

That feel when I now live 45 minutes away from Tropicana Park, and a good buddy of mine works for the Rays organization and basically throws free tickets in awesome seats for free for just about every game this year. Not to mention Rays games are on tv here rather than the Marlins games which I have to pay $25 a month to watch replays of because of retarded black-out rules.

That feel when the Rays are actually an exciting team to watch that actually compete, have competent ownership, in the AL East no less.

That feel when I was at the mall the other day and contemplated buying a Rays hat for the hell of it because I went to more Rays games than Marlins games this year, and I actually like the Rays uniform and insignia over the Marlins (Miami Marlins to be exact. Florida Marlins were the sh*t)

That feel when I feel like a piece of sh*t for even thinking I'm more a Rays fan than a Marlins fan nowadays. Typical bandwagon douche right?

I just want the f***ing Marlins to be a competitive team. Why is that so hard? sh*t, at least the Dolphins every now and then will have a decent year and give us hope for the playoffs (I feel like this might be one of those years, knock on wood).

*sigh* f***ing baseball man. btw, my gf who's also a big Marlins fan won't stop giving me crap about starting to pick up the Rays. But like I tried to explain to her, I'm a baseball fan over all. Marlins will always be in my heart, but it gets to the point where I can't continue wasting money and effort over a team that ends up being the laughing stock of baseball yet again.

Baseball sucks. =/

btw, I know come April I'll probably be all gung-ho over the Marlins again. Just sucks because I might not renew my mlbtv sub because that sh*t was way too expensive this year for what I was actually able to enjoy and watch. Most of the time, I'd accidentally see the score of the game because of Facebook or Twitter before I'd have a chance to come home and catch a replay of the game. I mean this is baseball, I'm not going to sit through a 4 hour game I know we lost 6-2 in, but then again I feel like in order to properly assess a team's strengths and weaknesses, you really have to watch just about every single game you can. Needless to say, following the Marlins this year was such a royal pain in the ass, and the fact we basically sh*t all over ourselves like retarded little birds doesn't really help the cause either.

I'm a Marlins fan, and my other team is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Welcome to sports hell.

Just remember, though, the Rays were a laughing stock for a long time.

Marlins World Championships: 2

Rays: 0

True, but then again there's the whole "you guys bought your championships" argument people love to make. If the Rays pull a championship out there ass, which will be soon I feel, you can honestly say well hey, they farmed most of those dudes, and never traded away the core team. Just an opinion of course.

I'm sometimes embarrassed to wear my Blaine Gabbert t-shirt out in public...

So I wear my Brunell jersey instead and constantly mutter 62-7 to myself.

this could be one of the dumbest statements I've ever seen.....when was the last time the Dolphins actually gave us a decent season? The 11-5 season where they got shellacked in the playoffs because they won most of those games off a weak sauce slate and eked out most wins by a point or two? Other than that the Marlins have been in much better shape most seasons until this one.

The Yankees and Red Sox bought every championship they've ever had....

Right there with you, dude.

The ineptitude of the people who run this organization makes it hard to remain a Marlins fan with each year that goes by.

They've taken the team that we grew up loving & turned it into a circus.

The most we can hope for is an ownership change at this point.

The Marlins have had three different owners that people dislike for the most part. What makes Loria different?

What makes Loria different is that he got the stadium done, which means they'll be here for the next 40 years.

Anyone dreaming of a change of ownership is delusional. Loria has his MLB baseball team, Loria loves baseball and Loria will own it until he dies.

Love him or hate him, good, bad or indifferent, he's here for the long-term.

Why can't you be a fan of both teams, and root for the Marlins head to head? Theres no shame in that- they play in 2 different divisions and play in 2 different leagues.

I'm a Marlins fan first, but I've long rooted for the Mets and the A's. I follow the Rays, but not enough to say I'm a fan.

In head to head, I'm a Marlins fan and I stick to it- even if it means ending the Mets season in 2008.

(I'm also a Phins-Jets, Panther- Isles fan)

DELETED.

Loria is up there in age, you can't expect him to want to deal with this for 40 more years, even if he could.

People on this board are always wanting to single out that Loria Is horrible without bringing up the past ownerships Other than bringing a team to Miami and a championship, I don't see how you can differentiate Huz. from Loria In a meaningful way. Loria had a championship and got the park built keeping the team here.
