That feel.

What makes Loria different is that he got the stadium done, which means they'll be here for the next 40 years.

Anyone dreaming of a change of ownership is delusional. Loria has his MLB baseball team, Loria loves baseball and Loria will own it until he dies.

Love him or hate him, good, bad or indifferent, he's here for the long-term.

Well that settles it then. WE MUST KILL LORIA.

Loria will be dead in 10 years.

Loria alienated the majority of the fan base by putting the stadium where he did.

Loria couldn't afford jack sh*t so he made other people almost completely pay for the stadium.

Loria put an awful product on the field and completely ruined whatever chance the team had at becoming an established, not embarrassing franchise by f***ing this all up from the get go with the Miami Marlins.

Please show me something that the majority of the Fanbase is pissed about the location of the ballpark,

Loria finally throws money at the team for the first time and the sh*t just didn't work out. People bitched about him not spending money before The only real sh*tty use of money in 2012 so far was on Bell. your going to use examples based from the past two or so years to show your hatred for the FO. Do you really think winning this year would have made us an established franchise in one year. The next year they start losing or attendance drops for whatever Miami reason, they would be a joke franchise to the media once again. To think one year would change anything would be incredibly naive.

This franchise has been an embarrassment long before Loria so to pretend like he was the first and only is a joke.

I'm sorry I have no qualms and no ill will toward anyone that wants to change their team.

But the ones that continue to bitch about the team f***ing them year after year and how they are switching teams but never do are no different than a girlfriend or boyfriend getting beat and staying with the person. That's fine but don't act like your the victim and that everyone should feel sorry for you when you have the option to leave.

Loria will be 72 in November. He could easily be actively running the franchise for the next 15 years. In any case, Samson is probably up next and he's only 44, so get used to it.

"Other people" are what most of us call tourists. Surely you've heard of the Miami-Dade hotel bed tax, the vehicle that pays for most of the stadium.

The vitriol spewed against the FO is amazing. One might think that it had been 104 years since the last WS win.

Explains why we had our third highest attendance numbers in franchise history this season. :|

The "fan base" around Sun Life didn't show up, so he moved the ballpark to a place where more people would show up, and they did.

Sorry, I forgot this point.

Loria didn't make anyone do anything. The elected representatives of M-D County and the City of Miami voted to approve the stadium deal.

You know, the deal where tourists, via long-ago enacted hotel bed taxes pay for our stadium.

I feeling you brah.

I'm a Marlins fan, and my other team is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Welcome to sports hell.

Just remember, though, the Rays were a laughing stock for a long time.

Marlins World Championships: 2

Rays: 0

Jags and Marlins for me too - gets very frustrating

The fan base around Sun Life couldn't possibly care less about baseball. Let alone afford to attend a game. Most of them simply worked games because of the location close to home.

Where it is now, I actually love it. It's easy to get in and out of, and it's taken me 15-20 minutes from the final pitch to be at my house near Homestead. It's accessible, clean, and made an effort to be a fan friendly ballpark.

Some here like to believe the reason they didn't renew their season tickets last year was the team sucks and will continue to suck. The real reason so called "True Fans" refused to renew is they were upset the team moved to Miami and geared their advertising and publicity as such.

The ballpark was paid for with taxes from hotels. Unless you stayed at a hotel in Miami Dade in the last four years, you have no right to bitch.

And if you did stay at a hotel in the last four years and live in Miami--- stop cheating on your wife. :haha

(Reality is, there are too many people who refuse to educate themselves about how sh*t works. Just because your ignorant to the facts doesn't make your position right. It just proves how much your opinion should be worth)

Pretty nice rant. Although so full of holes I'm not even going there.

But the bolded part is worth mentioning. Why is it that our best attendance records were when we either were playoff bound or the inaugural year and not any other time? Was Joe Robbie suddenly so much closer to "that other" fan base during those years? Got news for ya, that big place isn't on wheels. I'm not going to argue that alot of the fan base isn't renewing because of this year's record, but you are insinuating that particular fan base is all north of the Dade County line. I would definetly bet on that. Civic pride is a good thing. But bending and/or ignoring the facts in an attempt to validate ones reasoning only shows one thing. And, again, I'm not going there.

no matter where you build a stadium people are going to complain. It could literally be within walking distance but they'd complain that it causes too much traffic so they're protesting by not going to the games. Move it further away and then it becomes, "it's too costly to go". Move further away still and it becomes "oh I'd go to tons of games but clearly they should have built it closer." Miami is chock-full of excuses (as is Tampa Bay where I live). Here we have to hear bitching about the stadium location when it's perhaps the EASIEST stadium to get to of any sports venue I've ever seen and it's a piece of cake to get out of and it desposits you right onto an interstate - not to mention there must be about 10-15 different ways to get to said interstate upon exiting the park. I live in Tampa but it literally takes twice as long to get downtown to go a Lightning game than it does for me to drive across the Howard Frankland (in rush hour no less) and get to the ballpark. Like I said, people make excuses and will ALWAYS make excuses in certain cities. It's just how it is.

I love it when people from Broward/Palm Beach say that the majority of the fanbase is located there, and they could have filled the stadium. Let's ignore the fact that teams all over the state of Florida struggle with attendance in every sport. Yup, Broward/Palm Beach are the magical hotspots in the state of Florida where teams would thrive. Oh wait, the Panthers play in Broward and their attendance sucks, too.

The Panthers attendance sucks because they're a hockey team in Floridaand Floridians have no idea what Ice is. It's gonna be a natural uphill climb for that one.

True, but attendance still sucks all over the state for every other sport.

You are wrong, floridians know what ice is, just give them a drink without ice

A) Read the entire post.

B) That was sarcasm. Like "Miguel Cabrera sucks." "That explains why he won the Triple Crown."

Come on, you're smarter than that.

BroncoBob,

I will go there- I believe your so full of sh*t you'll make a great piece of a human centipede. I mentioned nothing of this years record, only of last years and the move.

Not to mention any place wouldn't have an issue selling out if a playoff team was on the field. What a way to prove your point.

I live in homestead,'in 2003 didn't have a car and was 15 and I still found a way to go. I'm sure it was easie for those who wanted to go and could.

Where were all you fans in the lean years? That's right, only 1000 or so. The stadium was a dump, the neighborhood was sh*t, and the weather was so much a factor I honestly would drive half way, see its raining, and turn around because I know a rain delay is coming and I don't want to pay $20 to watch the grounds crew. (And I've pulled up

On many occasions to the chevron and racetrack as stations and was offered coke or pot right outside, that neighborhood was a crime infested dump.)

Now the games guaranteed, the stadiums beautiful and the shity neighborhood isn't much of a factor because they all either want your business or you barely in its streets.

You view the Marlins as leaving to Miami, you should view it as them doing what it takes to stay in South Florida.

If you can't see it that way, your just a fool.
