Jose Fernandez could bring more fans to saturday game i may go see him pitch before he trade to blue jay

Fernandez won't be going anywhere any time soon. He's cheap, so we'll be seeing him for a few more years.

The problem is he'll be going somewhere a year earlier than he would otherwise because of the FO genius in calling him up from single A.

I don't mind calling him up, if he can compete. So far he has.

It's always been said that baseball is about pitching and defense. Our starting pitching has been very good. We have actually been in just about every game, and that is without Alvarez, and Eovaldi. Our defense has been very good also. Stanton will eventually start to hit and that will help out the rest of the lineup.

Beinfest and Company can't afford to sit back and wait till next year. I'm sure they are looking at diffent scenarios as we speak. They are on the hotseat this season. In a week or two we should have a surplus of starting pitching and we should be able to make a trade for bat. Not a superstar but a capable or solid big league bat. We also need to keep in mind that Morrison will be back at some point, and that Yelich will be called up also this season. The offense will get better.

We aren't going to win anything this season so it really doesn't matter how many games we win or lose. Who cares what the experts or other fans say? Let them laugh. They are going to dismiss us regardless. The only difference now is that we are dismissing our own team. We just have to develop our talent and get better which we will. We have to be patient. Plus, I still don't believe that we will have a historically bad season as long as our pitching can keep us in games.

These losses don't necessarily upset me because they're expected. We suck. It is what it is.

What I'm looking for is some of the younger players to step up. Specifically Hecchavaria, Solano, Morrison, Brantly, Fernandez, Sanabia, Alvarez, and Eovaldi. Obviously not all of them will establish themselves but at least a few should.

Going to the game again tomorrow (not sure why but I have the day off with nothing else to do and I got cheap tickets). I'll definitely be booing Mr. Redmond during intros.

People are really jumping to conclusions about the starting pitching after just 8 games. It's ridiculous to think that it will sustain this performance over the course of the season. They've been in games because the staff ERA has been 2.56 so far. The pitching won't be as dreadful as the offense is, but it still isn't going to be very good.

The bullpen ERA is also dead last in the NL right now too. So, yeah, small sampling size is not an indicator of long term performance.

Yes, because we're going to trade a guy 3 years away from arbitration and 6 years from free agency. Makes sense.

Does anything this guy say make sense? Let's be honest.

I never said it was going to be 2.56 good. My point was that it has been good so far and that it should keep in more games than not. While the pitching won't be this good all year long, neither will the hitting be this bad all year long.

put i do see better Attendance for sat because of Jose Fernandez

Yeah, the park will be full of Cubans

Hechavarria has played both games so far. If you think because he is Cuban there will be more people, you're mistaken.

I understand why there's so much negativity but we've been in almost every one of our 7 losses. This team is a few key hits away from us making threads proclaiming that we'll be ok and we're a supposedly great team.

I'm not saying we're a contender but if you asked me last month if I'd be ok with losing games 3-2, 4-2, 4-3, 2-0... I'd be happier with that than with getting blown out. We're not great but we're also not that far off from having been like 4-4 record wise.

The issue is no way in hell our SP will hold up to its current standards. Once that fails then it could get real ugly.

I agree with you, but I don't feel like the surprising success/impending failure of our SP is what people are complaining about on here.

The offense will improve a little when Stanton starts hitting but it still won't be good by any means. The pitching won't be good enough over the long term to keep the bad offense in games. Making any type of trade right now really serves no purpose.

The Marlins have only been "in games" lately because the starters are holding opposing teams to 2-3 runs per game. That's not going to be sustained.
