4-13 Post Game: Championship material!

Seriously, though, Coghlan did probably the worst thing he could have done in that situation other than strike out or pop out.

I'm glad the Marlins salvaged a win out of Fernandez's great start, but let's be real.

You are the clubhouse cancer of this message board, Debbie.

Starting pitching has been the only decent thing thus far. Too bad we can't hit worth a damn.

I said this before but I hope the FO has a plan with Fernandez. He's proving he belongs so far. If he continues to pitch like this, they have to offer him a contract similar to Matt Moore's.

oh...they have a plan. See: Miguel Cabrera

We win on good pitching but 7-8 times out of 10 we won't win that game.

Offense is historically bad. There is no groove or tear coming either.

I think the point is Coghlan is terrible and really has no business on this team

How does being terrible mean he has no business on THIS team.

Yep, if anything being terrible is a prerequisite for being on this team.

Breaking stuff is absolute filth. That curve is completely unhittable when it is on target. The late break is insane. I'll be happy when we finally get this kid a win.

Fernandez is amazing. A 95-97 FB with huge movement that he can still easily throw after 60-70 pitches? A nasty hook he can throw for a strike like clockwork? A decent slider and change? At the ripe old age of 20? Holy crap.

Blown one-run leads? He's so happy to actually be starting in MLB that he doesn't care if he wins a game all year. He's on top of a world he only dreamt he would ever see as a poor kid in Cuba.

It'll only get better later when Yelich and others are up and injured guys are back. We might actually get him 3 or 4 runs while he throws 6 or 7 great innings.

He will pitch the opener next year. Eovaldi, Alvarez and Turner can line up behind him. Nolasco can say "I was briefly their #1" as he pitches as a 4 or 5 with some other team.

Practically the whole damn team is fucking terrible and shouldn't really be playing but when something goes our way whether by luck or skill, I'm not such a fucktard that I can't try to make a positive out of it. I think that's the point.

I understand bitching about the team when stuff goes bad, ive been doing it too, but what is the point of just staying on the boards to bitch about a win and try to bring everyone else down after one.

The season is 12 games in. Why in gods name have we decided that "we can't hit" and "coghlan sucks", the sample size is embarrassingly small. Has anyone else noticed that the angels came quite close to having the same record as us? The fact is we will not hit this badly with runners in scoring position. We will be fine, and who knows there have been several teams in history to make the playoffs after the same start.

Teams sucks. We'll never win anything.

But..but we won yesterday

I mean, I understand not wanting to bitch after every little thing that goes wrong, but it's kind of ridiculous to speculate that Coghlan could somehow "break out" after hitting a double play ball that was mishandled by an infielder.

Shit happens and it happens for other players. Sometimes that's what it takes to kick start a player. Its in no way ridiculous to even suggest that may happen.

I think the thing is that Coghlan is arguably the worst player on the bad team. Like, seriously, he has become that bad. Some people keep expecting him to turn it around as though it hasn't been four years since he was last relevant.

No, actually it is pretty ridiculous to even think something like that could of kick started him. Whats even more shocking is that was ruled an infield hit when it should of been a fielders choice since it was a routine grounder. He really only has 1 hit this year and we're 12 games in. The guy has had one lucky half of a year in 4 years now. Its pretty safe to say hes terrible and has had many opportunities already. People that think otherwise are just downright insane.

This is one of the dumbest things I've read here lately. How is a fielder's misplay going to kickstart something? How does that logic even make sense?

Looks like Coghlan didn't capitalize on his "success" from last night yet because he went 0-4 today.

I understand that there's been a lot of pessimism on the boards lately, but much of that is grounded in hard facts and numbers. The perpetual optimists here operate only by hunches and wishful thinking.

You ever heard of a Lucky break getting the "monkey off their back"? That's what he's saying. If your too stupid to realize that then that's on you.

That kind of logic is just proving my point! :lol

Good for you, it's obvious your too much of a retard to understand much of what anyone says these days.
