September 29, 201312 yr I finally get to see a Marlins no-no – and wouldn't you know it, I was in attendance! :clapping Very nice. Beetle! I sooooo envy you That had to be awesome out there! It was special, that's for sure. Back in 06 I made big fuss about missing Anibal's no-no (I was on a plane); and I wasn't in Florida for the other 3. So, I'm glad to finally put this feather in my cap. Good crowd too. They were really into it. You gotta get that autographed!!! I have an autographed photo of the scoreboard from a no hitter Nolasco, Meyers and Nunez threw in ST also against the Tigers with the ticket framed
September 29, 201312 yr how many MLB teams have 5 no hitters from 5 different pitchers Certainly not the Padres, Mets or Rays
September 29, 201312 yr After the game, Redmond apologized to the Tigers for the raucous celebration following the no-hitter. I thought you were serious for a second. That would've been fucking ridiculous.

September 29, 201312 yr This is probably the last thing I expected to happen today even if the last part definitely had this team's signature on it. Maybe it's because of the past couple seasons and I'm a fan of the Steelers to boot, but I'm finding it weird to feel this good about something sports related right now. At least I feel better about this team this year than I did last year. No, I'm not expecting a huge turnaround, but there's some momentum here instead of last year where the team felt like a dead zone and the end of the season just petered out.
September 30, 201312 yr I went to a no-hitter once... Remember that old dude on the Phillies who left in the 1st inning with arm fatigue last week? Ray Holiday? Yeah, that's it. He was pretty good once at Sun Life.
September 30, 201312 yr great way to finish the season and look forward to spring training 2014.... with alvarez and Fernandez in the rotation,we have a lot of optimism.. but we need to build up our offense

September 30, 201312 yr Author I went to a no-hitter once... Remember that old dude on the Phillies who left in the 1st inning with arm fatigue last week? Ray Holiday? Yeah, that's it. He was pretty good once at Sun Life. He had the most generous strike zone I've ever seen in a mlb game. Regardless, this thread is about HA, so fuck that guy
September 30, 201312 yr Author I assume Adeiny was joking: 'My play in the third inning was a big play.' I was thinking, if he throws a no-hitter, he better thank me.
September 30, 201312 yr A nice look at the outing, and Henderson, heading into next year after the no-no: http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/40973/tigers-limp-into-playoffs-after-alvarez-no-no
September 30, 201312 yr all in all this season henderson alvarez proved he could be an effective starter, and eovaldi has improved drastically. Turner on the other hand has proven at least to some degree he has a lot to learn. Koehler was a better pitcher this year than the highly thought of Jacob Turner. Going forward I'm excited with our pitching staff, but I think we should trade one of them for some bats. Personally I would trade turner. Koehler doesn't hold much value.
September 30, 201312 yr I was invited to go to this game and passed up. :banghead Anyway, good way to end it!

I would have no problem trading Turner if he had enough value to help us get a nice bat in return.
September 30, 201312 yr Author Turner is only 22, let's not give up on him so quickly. He was great before the all star break. Then he just completely unraveled as his BB rate went through the roof
October 1, 201312 yr I could have really enjoyed this if I could still be happy about positive things that happen while Loria still owns this team.
