November 21, 201312 yr So let's see the positives: Fielder's contract is gone Can re-extend Cabrera Extend Scherzer Maybe extend Verlander again? Cabrera back to first Kinsler at second Do they re-sign Infante to play third or put Castellanos back there?
November 21, 201312 yr I don't see Texas going for Cano, either. Profar at second, Andrus at short (or switch), Beltre at third, Fielder/Moreland at first/DH interchangeable. Unless Cano can catch ...
November 21, 201312 yr Dombrowski is probably worried about Fielder's waistline after a pretty mediocre 2013 season.
November 21, 201312 yr Cano to Tigers maybe? Whats cooking here Why would they do that if they just got Kinsler?
November 21, 201312 yr And now I'm quite sure rangers will do all they can to get cano. I doubt it. This was more likely done to open room for Profar.

Cabrera back to first Kinsler at second Do they re-sign Infante to play third or put Castellanos back there? They reportedly saved only $72 million. That probably won't even cover the Scherzer extension (although it definitely helps), let alone Cabrera and Verlander. Also, Verlander is signed through 2019. There is no need to even think about extending him.
November 21, 201312 yr Ah, I should have looked up Verlander first. OK, Cabs and Scherzer, then. Or maybe they lock up Iglesias.
November 21, 201312 yr Detroit gets the money to keep Scherzer opens up 1st base for Miggy Castellanos has a spot to be able to get in the starting lineup next season Texas doesn't need to overpay for Napoli Howard will find heaven as a Power hitter at the Texas ballpark Profar will move to 2nd base Texas can keep Andrus Texas will still bid for McCann
November 21, 201312 yr Dombrowski is so good its not even funny. As for the Rangers, a risky but bold and aggressive move, I like it. Best/biggest 1 for 1 trade in recent memory?

Cabrera back to first Kinsler at second Do they re-sign Infante to play third or put Castellanos back there? Castellanos wll get his chance at 3rd base, instead of converting him to the Outfield
November 21, 201312 yr Wow, that's a big deal for both teams for all the reasons mentioned. Tigers shift into a perfect world, now they can get Castellanos in the lineup, Move Miggy to first, get a productive Kinsler, etc. Rangers have been looking for this kind of bat for a long time, they even tried to sign Prince themselves... They finally get the bat they covet, they get Profar at second base, and a discount on Prince's contract. That's two very good GM's at work right there...
November 21, 201312 yr Let's go get Infante now that he has no place in Detroit. I'd like that. But I doubt Infante would be willing to come back here this early in our rebuilding. Plus he'll get a nice chunk of change from somewhere and it won't be us. From what I know him, he deserves better honestly.
November 21, 201312 yr Author he's prob gonna command around 3/30 also... not sure if we're shelling that out.
November 21, 201312 yr Nolan Ryan leaves the Rangers and the first thing they do is buy a huge contract. I get the feeling that franchise is going down.
November 22, 201312 yr Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim receive: 3B David Freese RP Fernando Salas St. Louis Cardinals receive: OF Peter Bourjos OF Randal Grichuk (minors)
November 22, 201312 yr I don't see how. They get a solid third baseman and a reliever for an oft-injured outfielder and an unimpressive minor league outfielder.
November 22, 201312 yr I know you guys don't care but Chris valiakia is on cubs....sort of unfortunately because he had 9 rbis. Could have had more if he were called up.

Yeah, let's make a big deal of Valaika not being a Marlin anymore when we all know that if he was never a Marlin and just signed with us now for 2014 - people would be saying "That's such a Marlin type signing". Let's be real, he's no loss.
