I don't think he is worth close to 20 million. Especially with the amount of young pitching we have.Good pitcher but he is being overrated, Only once an ERA under 3.15 and his WHIP has only once been ace like under 1.1 once. He is a solid number 2 obviously but he is not close to being worth 20 million for a team that has monetary constraints. Target a cheaper guy in free agency and you will get a little worse then shields but also cheaper and for a shorter duration. We need a starter but we don't need a long term guy like Shields for that much money.
