Would the Marlins take advantage of divisional teams losing? Nope.

Just have to get back to 10 games under.

we out wildcard  play off race because lost time count their was 8 team ahead of us

Yankees is better than us, but we made series-even. Next matchup is @Reds.

I will expect just 3 homers for Stanton.

Think you made your point yet?  Maybe another 15 posts saying the same thing are in order

I like that we took 2 game from the da Yanks. I think we still have some momentum going into Cincinnati.

This team is just stuck in neutral.

It was amazing how many jams Urena and Latos got out of and they still just find a way to lose.

All the momentum went to the Yankees on that tying home run. Not surprising what followed.

Team has too many painful weaknesses, but to me the biggest is bullpen performance on the road. It's hard to count how many road games the bullpen has blown, but if not double digit which I think it may be, its pretty darn close to it and every virtually every reliever in the pen has had a hand in it. It's the single biggest reason why this team is on pace to lose over 90 games

Parts of the bullpen especially named Dunn.  Any piece of shit named Solano.  There are a good handful of players that just need to be shown the door.  Idiot managing is not helping.  This team just seems to settle down to 10 games under .500 and will not budge from it.  Jose coming back probably won't mean shit if this team likes to keep fucking up games late.  At this point, fucking lose so they can screw up next year's draft.

Ive been saying it dude. Just constantly hovering at 10 games under. They talk about winning series but the only way you are getting out of this shit hole is with a 6-7 + game streak like Toronto did.

It's ridiculous to keep pretending this team has even the smallest chance of a playoff run in them. Way too many holes throughout the team that have no easy fix.

Love that Stanton is on pace for 60 HR's now, but I'm still hugely worried about both the present and the near future of this team. Dee/Hech/Yelich/Ozuna/Stanton are probably long term fixtures on this team, but 3rd base, 1st base, and catcher are still real question marks. The scary part of this is that these were problems coming into the season, and guys like Prado (even if he's adequate for the time being, he's not a solution beyond next season maybe), Bour/Morse, and Realmuto are question marks at the major league level regardless of this season, and the biggest concern about the future strength of the rotation has question marks all over. Alvarez and Fernandez have the health issues, and the #3-5 slots have no real solutions. The Marlins are likely going to have to try out guys like Urena/Nicolino/Flores/etc... and hope that one of them emerges as a decent #3 starter. Not worried about the 'pen as that should solve itself at some point.

The biggest worry is that this was the team that was supposed to make the playoff run. We traded future pieces in an attempt to go for it now. While it doesn't take long to rebuild a farm system, it does take a solid amount of time to get good prospects who are major league ready within 2 years.

I keep going back to the thought that if the best team we could build ends up at 10 games under .500, what does that tell us about the future of this team? There's nothing in look ahead that signals this team is even capable of significantly changing in 2016. So why should I expect a 90 win team next year? There's a structural problem with this team that starts at the top and has been an issue for a decade. Unless the current team improves leaps and bounds from how they've played for almost three months, the Marlins don't have a chance at making the playoffs in the next 3 years at least. I don't know where to look for optimism in our current situation.

Agree with most of your post, except I think Realmuto is great. He can handle the staff well, plays excellent defense, and his bat will come around.

This team probably would not be so bad if the bullpen would stop screwing up games.  Dunn, Cishek, etc.  Look at all the games we had the lead in by the 7th inning and couldn't keep.  That's a good 5 - 6 game swing right there, which puts them .500+ and right behind the Mets and Nationals.  Yeah, there are times the offense hurt their chances of winning but losing games from the 7th inning on has been a real issue.

5 years to the day after Stanton hit his 1st career HR, he connects on his first HR in new Yankee Stadium.

Despite everything the last two months, I can't help but think that without that stupid 3-11 to start the season, we'd be at 26-28 today.

Of course you can't just remove those games from the record but maybe if they actually played like a competent baseball team those first two weeks, things wouldn't be so bad right now.
