December 28, 201510 yr I'm not sure Mike Hill has much say over the roster, and certainly has the worst resources of all the teams around him to do his job. Nothing changes until Loria is gone or he lets baseball personnel make the decisions. Not really defending Hill here, but I can't complain about anyone specific when Loria unquestionably makes every major decision.

All stats from Baseball Reference... Marlins WAR acquired......... 32.8 Marlins WAR traded away.... 57.1 Thats horrible, my friends. The other team received 74% more WAR in trades than we did. The ONLY way you could justify such a disparity is if we stocked our farm system with great prospects who have a bright future's worth of WAR awaiting them in the show. We all know that, if anything, many of the good young players we've traded away are likely to keep racking up WAR, making the 57 1-32.8 disparity even worse. Consider the following young players, who have yet to collect 2 WAR: Josh Naylor Chris Paddack Grant Dayton Andrew Heaney Enrique Hernandez Add in Carter Capps, Sam Dyson, Anthony Desclafani (who beat us tonight), Jake Marisnick, and 3 competitive balance picked traded away to boot and you have all the proof you need that Mike Hill is absolutely incompetent and should be fired.

Both he and Infante combined were about 8 or 9 WAR. But, among the players we got back, only Justin Turner had a positive WAR; the other 2 players (Flynn and Brantley) had negative WAR playing for us. Of course, we flipped Flynn for Aaron Crow a while back and now Flynn has a post-Marlins WAR of 0.6. So there's that.
