November 17, 201510 yr By the way, if we trade Jose at this point in his career, I'm done. He's not being traded this off-season
November 17, 201510 yr I kind of want it to happen just to see Stanton, MLBPA, commissioner's office, other owners, all media, etc. freak out and react out how abysmal the Marlins front office is. I can't imagine Loria surviving as no trade except for a name like Trout, Bryant, Correa, Machado, and maybe 2-3 other guys could possibly make sense on a baseball level. And none of that is happening. They'd have to figure out a way to push him out. They can't have a team 4th year in a new park in one of the larger media markets operating like this. It would be so awesome if they stripped the all star game if they did this. I suspect this is 100% BS as I mean, how can you trade him, but it'll no doubt be hilarious (in a bad way) if it happens. I'm looking forward to the day stuff like this isn't reported.
November 17, 201510 yr I'm looking forward to the day stuff like this isn't reported. Bingo. Right now a guy like Mish can make this up out of thin air and its believed based on history.
November 17, 201510 yr Way too early to trade Jose. We've got him for a few more years and barring a complete breakdown his trade value should remain the same (top tier prospects in return). We're not going to be able to resign him unless Loria loses ownership of the team within the year and Mark Cuban/Mickey Arison take over. Jose will get $200 million on the open market in after 2018. Down the line I'm sure the team is considering the possibility of trading him, but I can't imagine that happening now. That would be sending us back to even further rebuild mode, and it isn't like we're going to get the Cubs old farm system for him anyway.

November 17, 201510 yr I assume it would I'd be okay with that return. Let's submit this to craig mish
November 17, 201510 yr I'd be okay with that return. Let's submit this to craig mish Please do, he's got the best connections. He knows things nobody else in the world knows.
November 17, 201510 yr On a side note, isn't it great that we started Jose those first two weeks of 2013 so we only now have him through 2018 instead of 2019? That's a decision nobody should ever let anybody live down.

November 17, 201510 yr http://m.marlins.mlb.com/news/article/157524590 Craig Mish of SiriusXM, via Twitter, claimed there is a "growing sentiment around baseball and internally with the Marlins is Jose Fernandez will be traded this offseason." Multiple high-placed sources told MLB.com that the club is not shopping or intending to shop the 23-year-old, who is one of the most popular players in recent team history. Claimed is the right word Scoop, good job. I would have went with "Lied out of his ass" but this works.
November 17, 201510 yr This is the Dumbest thing I have ever read. Why the F$#%$^$ would we even consider trading Jose Fernandez? Why are we even discussing this. This thread should be closed.
November 17, 201510 yr If Jose is traded this off season. ..I will finally be able to root for a real MLB team...cause I won't be rooting for the fish
November 17, 201510 yr If Jose is traded this off season. ..I will finally be able to root for a real MLB team...cause I won't be rooting for the fish He won't be
November 17, 201510 yr He won't be on a real mlb team next year? No, he won't be rooting for the fish. Fernandez hates us as much as we hate us
November 17, 201510 yr Author Slater also saying ferny to be dealt. Claims Jose wants out "ASAP" https://t.co/MDos0HAa0b
November 17, 201510 yr As much as I don't buy the Jose being traded rumors, I totally buy the Jose is a baby rumors. Anyone who has lived in Miami read the descriptions of Jose's attitude and pictured hundreds of South Floridians they've encountered. Diarrhea people everywhere.
November 17, 201510 yr Hey man i'd trade Jose for Machado or Arenado It's the pitching aspect though. If we can get arenado or machado we will be the Colorado Rockies of the east. No pitching at all. I am onboard with you but sadly we won't win any games and the culture of losing will be in full swing. A couple of weeks ago I rated Colorado as the team with the largest culture of losing. So no thank you. But I see your point.
