Well, I don't know the guy well enough to call him a "clubhouse cancer," but he's definitely at the very least a little arrogant. He had a reputation in high school for being very cocky, especially when he was pitching. He's toned that down a lot. 

 

I've also heard from high school kids my brother coached that he was somewhat of a jackass when they approached him to sign baseballs a couple years ago. 

 

It's highly unlikely that he's as nice as the guy you see on TV. As a matter of fact, it would be hard to be that guy because he's pretty perfect on TV. Even if you take away the little I can tell you of his past, his TV personality always seemed rather fake to me. The whole my teammates are always the best and the fans are the best even though we draw some of the worst crowds is a little much. 

 

 

I'd trade him for one hell of a haul that's can contribute within the next 2 years. Fuck it. We suck. Keep blowing this shit up until it works
