Jordan Zimmermann Signs Deal With Tigers

Featured Replies

Actually I wasn't in any way expecting the Marlins to sign someone like this. What I'm more interested in is how this will affect the Nationals. Will this move them in another direction? Will they become that contender that everyone keeps predicting them to become? Or something else? Contender, or Braves 2.0?

I feel like that needs a "stay tuned" after it. Good news tease

You think it's a bad deal?

Eh, 5/110 is kind of a lot. He turns 30 in May and he wasn't really that great last season. Wouldn't be surprised if his decline continues.

I think four years definitely would have looked better.

Marlins should have at least reached out to him. I've said it a hundred times but we have a dire need for starting pitching yet Loria was willing to reach out to Cespedes but won't reach out to any starting pitchers? Ugh.

Preaching to the choir

Tigers seem to be dark horses in a lot of stuff, I really didn't predict him to go there. I honestly thought he would not sign until the Winter Meetings.

Haap was over paid which makes me wonder how much Kazmir is now looking for.

how come the Tigers can afford Zimmermann? I know they'll regret this signing

They are meeting with a free agent SP, can't say more than that yet.

Hmm let me take a wild guess Josh Johnson or AJ Burnett

Was there ever any confirmation that Loria reached out to Cespedes? I thought that was just board speculation?
