February 21, 201610 yr Considering all of our subtractions were guys that didn't contribute positively last season...and that we, for now, have both Jose and Stanton healthy... I'd say yes we are , at the least, better than last year. Is it playoff contender better? Without massive luck, probably not, but better? I'd go with yes.
February 21, 201610 yr We need to stay healthy for a full season and starting pitchers perform to their potential. Our defense is good as is our bullpen. BTW. Christian Yelich autographed a picture for my kids today and while he was signing I told my kids they were just getting the signature of the coming 2016 season batting champion. Yelich said: "...........I wish". I honestly think he has what it takes to win it.
February 21, 201610 yr 79 wins so far. Hypothetical: Our defense makes 50 errors less than our opposition. How many wins does this add, Mr. Vince?
February 21, 201610 yr Hypothetical: Our defense makes 50 errors less than our opposition. How many wins does this add, Mr. Vince? Not sure. I'm just going by dumb pitching and on and off again offensive hot streaks. If cosart and Koehler hugely step up and offense is hot 4/6 months then 88
February 21, 201610 yr We won 71 last year with pretty much every major player on the team missing significant time due to injury. We're realmuto and bour the only regulars that didn't spend any time on the DL? with health we should be around. .500 in the very least.

That sounds about right with JT and Bour, although can we really call Bour a "regular" as he wasn't truly starting until Morse took a huge dive?
February 21, 201610 yr True bour came in later in the year after morse tanked. Also JT wasn't supposed to be our starter either.
February 21, 201610 yr My Marlins preview is scheduled for release on April 2nd. I am under a self-enforced embargo until then
February 21, 201610 yr Get out. I am sending you back to the old server. A world series champion season.
February 21, 201610 yr With hand, jackson, urena waiting in the wings should an injury occur, how can you expect a winning season right now. This is why a number 3 should have been a priority immediately after signing chen.
February 21, 201610 yr If our offense stays healthy I think we could have a good season. Expecting Ozuna to bounce back as it seems he's in better shape coming into the season. With the core of Stanton, Yelich, Ozuna and Gordon all raking, that should translate to plenty of runs.
February 21, 201610 yr I think a key to our success is our bullpen. Teams that overachieve tend to have strong bullpens. Our bullpen has some potential. It's easy to look at the lineup and starting rotation, but especially the way the game is played now, I think the bullpen and team defense should be evaluated, as well. Both are team strengths. KC has been to the World Series each of the past two years. I see similarities. If the team can stay healthy (or at least healthier than past year's), I'll give them a projection of 85 wins. Maybe a little less, maybe a little more depending on the success of the bullpen holding leads.
February 21, 201610 yr yeah about Ozuna, he legitimately looks a lot leaner than he did last year. 20 lbs lighter
