  1. Not a friend of García hitting in front of Stallings. Give Garcia a better protection for the time being.
  2. Brian Anderson AB was pathetic
  3. This is the year ownership has to prove they want to win and are here to win. I do not see any reason to not spend in the offseason.
  4. I don't know how they still play Starlin Castro, and hitting cleanup. If this ownership wants the fan base to trust them it's about time they trade, release or dfa Chen, Castro, Granderson and Conley. Especially when we have talent in the minors who are performing and deserve a chance to compete at the major league level.
  5. Victor Victor is a Dominican artist who sang "Mesita de Noche" (bedside table) a bachata which became very popular in Cuba in late 80's and early 90's. Surely, father Victor Mesa, a flashy center fielder for Villa Clara at the time, considered this to name his son. There is a comparable case of another even more popular Mexican bolero and love songs singer Jose Jose. Known as "El Principe de la Canción", Jose Jose became popular in the island by the late 70's.
  6. Phelps and Taza de Agua have not performed as expected, so far. However, they have shown in the past that they can be effective bullpen arms. IMO, they are in the middle of a stretch where they have not lived up to expectations but I am hopeful they will be able to prove they are quality arms and consistently help the Marlins win.
  7. Yelich will be the first Marlin to hit for the cycle and will finish in the top three of the batting crown
  8. My favorite Marlin of all times. A cancer survivor, Lowell was the ultimate professional. An RBI machine and clutch hitter, always played Gold glove caliber defense and never had distractions on and/or off the field. I think he will one day be the Marlins skipper. He has earned the respect of fans and players, active or retired. I also enjoyed his segments in local sports radio shows and for MLB network.
  9. Goodwill Park
  10. Let’s say spending big on a free agent closer like Chapman or Jensen was what the FO thought would make the team a contender. Why spent heavily on a proven closer if you’re not going to compete, right? Well, after swinging a missing on those two, the FO could have made this team a lot better by signing Encarnacion what meant Bour was expendable. Send a package of Bour, Koehler and Hech (I cannot wait to see he improves or he’s gone) and throw-ins for a quality starter with years of team control…. Didn’t Ivan Nova sign for 3/26? IMO, that’s something we all believe is not out of reach for our team financially speaking, don’t we? Agreed our bullpen is solid and deep but if we want to compete we need to be serious about getting run production and a good, durable starter. Replacing Hech at short is not a bigger problem.
  11. IMO, Jansen will sign with the Dodgers. The longer he takes to announce his decision the more certain I feel he stays in LA. It’s been a few days now since Marlins offered him 5/80 which is good enough time to have already accepted or rejected such offer. I don’t see KJ interested to bring his talents to South Florida. My question now is if ownership would still use that money this offseason to upgrade the team; for example: sign Encarnacion and then find a trading partner where to send Bour and Hech or any other ideas to make the Marlins better.
  12. No Dunn. Thank you. Anyone can suck as he does for much less money than he'll be getting in the left-handed relief pitcher market.
  13. I still believe in THE Miracle
  14. We basically acquired Hellickson at the deadline with TK pitching like he has lately. And for the sake of not losing old TK we got Cashner.
  15. Agree with you 99%. IMO, Stanton was a little lazy going after the ball Fowler hit in the bottom of the first inning. Any given day that's a stand up double and that's it. José's line could have ended as not having surrendered any runs. Mental mistakes cost us last night's loss
  16. September 19,2016. The first of a 3-game series at home vs. Nationals
  17. We need to stay healthy for a full season and starting pitchers perform to their potential. Our defense is good as is our bullpen. BTW. Christian Yelich autographed a picture for my kids today and while he was signing I told my kids they were just getting the signature of the coming 2016 season batting champion. Yelich said: "...........I wish". I honestly think he has what it takes to win it.
  18. This one is all on Redmond's. How can you let a struggling pitcher throw to the hottest batter of the game when there are two out, two on and first base open.
  19. Not bad now when he is hitting.
  20. I was thinking maybe we could trade for Ethier who apparently will not get with the Dodgers the everyday playing time he wants. He can play 1B, plays all three outfield positions and isn't a clubhouse cancer. The Dodgers would maybe eat a considerable amount of the money he's owed and we'll be getting him for not much than we offered LaRoche, who is also older than Ethier. What will be the Dodgers want from us to get it done? The Dodgers seem to also have a crowded infield. Will it take our farm to get both Ethier and Dee Gordon? Dreaming? Thoughts?
