Bottom line is, as usual they couldn't get a big hit with RISP when they needed it.

They had plenty of opportunities to tie or take the lead that they let go by.......and Don's moves (IBB, shifts, etc) don't help on top of that.

Stomach issues though he did pinch hit in this one so should in theory start tomorrow

Thanks @SonOfJack I thought Don was intentionally benching him.

I'm patiently waiting for the Marlins to open their eyes and try to give some playing time to De La Cruz. Idk how many hits he has to get to get a real opportunity.

I tried, I am sorry for not giving you all a winning streak record.

i also turned the game off to see if that would help. alas, i could not overcome an inept offense and a poor pitching performance from Sandy

where is he going to play?  Sanchez is the starting CF and they aren't going to sit their "expensive" UFA signings who patrol the other corner spots.

Good thing about winning streaks is they help to make the losses less important. Win the series vs Arizona and today's loss doesn't mean much. Keep moving forward.

We're six games into this 16 game run and already halfway to what I stated would be the minimal acceptable win amount for the stretch. Get a sweep of Arizona and just two wins away after that.

It's a good start to this run.

So teams need to cut down roster to 26 players after today's game ? this team needs to cut three players if Floro comes back.

The season is a best case scenario start. Starting 17-14 with two west coast trips would be an incredible start.

But nothing is going to change until they get a longterm bat upgrade, which is effectively a CF.

.400 BABIP this year and .382 for career. The guy is probably an empty .230/.280/.350+ hitter. They should trade ASAP for a longterm CF massive upgrade and send him to AAA. I wouldn't bench any of Garcia, Soler, Aguilar, or Cooper for him. Let them work themselves out. They are all better and they frankly need them.

What are the odds that Don continues to bat Garcia 5th tomorrow?

Given what everyone is doing, you'd hope they'd do something like this against RHP moving forward until things change.

2B Jazz
LF Soler
CF Sanchez
1B/DH Cooper
SS Wendle
3B Anderson
1B/DH Aguilar
RF Garcia
C Stallings

Wtf? It'd be really silly for them to finally get that CF and then just send him to AAA, why would they do that?

Wendle has some of the best approaches at the plate and makes good contact... definitely an upgrade batting him higher than Avi

Agreed. Maybe not 5th but definitely above Avi.

Agreed.  They better not go the opposite and start a losing streak.
