I'm thinking they're just adding depth and hoping that it works out. That's really the only reason to add Rea. "Well, if one of our starters keep sucking, at least we have Rea." Or "if Rea sucks, whatever, maybe the next guy who sucks does better."

 

Well they do have a lack of depth after all 

 

 

IDK cashner to me is a lot better than tk, urena, cosart. 

 

That's an improvement. Miniscule but acquiring a pitcher whom is better than 3/5 of your rotation

I mean I hope they do more to upgrade but (despite the shit I give him for it) polly is right about our lack of a farm and if we can't do anything else I don't mind making depth moves and I wouldn't say they're moves for the sake of saying they tried because one thing we lack is depth so adding depth is almost an upgrade in itself.

This trade by no means made our team better.  Added depth is a great thing, cant argue that but was the move actual "worth" it?

Seems like we gave up a lot but in terms of our big league roster Cashner is probably greater than Cosart so maybe that's a smart move. Cosart wasn't gonna be as good as Monday all of the second half.

 

 

Maybe Rea is going to be put into a package for another starter?
