Yes, that's him

Yes.  They had mentioned it when they listed Loria, Samson and others who entered through another entrance and not through the front.

Oh wow. Thanks, guys.

Much respect to Commissioner Manfred for making the trip down for this.

For as much as we've slated him over the years, this picture taken at today's funeral serves as a reminder that despite him at times making questionable baseball decisions for this franchise, Jeffrey Loria really is not a bad guy.

He has always done well by his players on a personal level. He's cheap and hard-headed, but he doesn't seem like a bad human being. Hopefully next season he wears a chip on his shoulder and builds a powerhouse that Jose would be proud of.

Who he is as a businessman should have no bearing on him as a human. He's always been very pleasant the few times I've spoke to him.

I can't believe I'm watching Jose Fernandez's funeral.

I know exactly what you mean.. I have uttered those words countless time today.

At this point, I can't even say anything that hasn't already been said. Its hurtful and tragic, I pray that his family somehow finds healing and comfort.

I work at home and live in Jacksonville, but was able to watch Jose's funeral streamed at the WSVN website. Watched every game this week, and the procession at Marlins Park yesterday. Just in a state of shock over this, I've been in tears  all week. Can't imagine the pain his mother and grandmother are going though, and obviously all those who loved Jose, a universe apparently.  And of course his life story, his heroism, his beautiful heart, his passion, his greatness on the field. At 24 with a lifetime ahead of him, just like that, gone.

As just an ordinary fan, who has followed the team since its inception when I lived in South Florida, I just feel lucky to have experienced Jose Day on the big screen for the last 4 years. In my mind it was a day each week of the season when he was healthy that I circled and just looked forward to for the sheer pleasure of watching him perform and do his thing. I just loved his playfulness, his energy, his passion for the game and just his sheer dominance.

We all know that Jose is irreplaceable. I hope somehow we'll still be able to compete for the playoffs in the forthcoming years, but this depends so much on what the front office does, Loria's budget, and other factors too numerous to cite. I admittedly on past performance wish I had more confidence in the future direction of this team, but hopefully management will pleasantly surprise. I will say, in the midst of this tragedy and the flow of tears, with how the team has so beautifully honored and showed their love for Jose, taken his family into their hearts, and exhibited their brotherhood on and off the field I've never been more proud to be a Marlins fan. I really hope the image painfully painted of them both locally and nationally somehow changes for the better.

Hey everyone! It's been years since I've posted. But this whole thing has brought me back here. Just can't believe what's happening. I live down the block from his family, and I had no idea until I drove by to go to work on Monday and there were cops, news vans, balloons, and flowers out front.

Seeing his family and friends outside almost every day this week has made me break down every time. I had to stop by and drop off balloons one night because I was so distraught. And it just always hits me every time that this guy was one of us. Seeing his family, his abuela, his tios and tias, it was like seeing one of my friends' families mourning.

The Marlins will never be the same. I absolutely can't handle this. I've cried every day. I will never forget this week, the Sunday morning the news broke, the night I went to the viewing, seeing his family outside of their home grieving.

Sucks that a team and a city I love so much has to go through so much pain right now. I feel so bad for the fellas on the team.

Just a little warning, I hadn't watched it since game day. I started watching it now and had to stop. Don't need people in the office seeing me cry.

I was at the game Monday and have wanted to watch it especially to hear Rich's commentary on it and I can't bring myself to do it. It's all still feeling like a blur to me.

I am getting a strong sense that the retirement ceremony will be done at the All-Star Game

Good. I had hoped the ASG would have something significant for him and not just a moment of silence or a video package.

As painful as it is, it's worth watching. I was at the game as well and there are certain things you will see on the telecast that you might have missed being there.

If you don't mind, would you post the address. I'd like to stop by and drop off some ballons and flowers
