May 2, 20179 yr Marlins offense has been pretty quiet since the San Diego series. Outside of Sunday's game which was pretty much dominated by Bour and Ozuna all the bats have been pretty quiet. Dee Gordon has been getting on base but Prado and Stanton haven't done anything to move them over. Pretty tough to get wins when your offense is only getting you 2-3 runs a night right now if that. The pitching is mediocre as it is, has been doing okay outside of Volquez and TK. I still get a kick out of TK's face when he was pulled for a pinch hitter on Sunday. I really do hope Phelps is turning a corner because we could use him. Tazawa is a waste, but that contract is really going to be awful when we are unable to trade him. Chen pitched well tonight, he made one mistake to the guy who crushes us in our own park. Tim Beckham. Besides that we were in the game. We just didn't get the big hit when we needed it.

May 2, 20179 yr this is what happens when you build a team with a bunch of ground ball hitters Only Dee, Prado, Hech, and Realmuto... Rest are line drive and fly ball hitters. We have a team full of slump-prone hitters.

We have a team full of slump-prone hitters. yelich and dees gb rates are near 60% and bour is near 50% this year (ouch) and marlins overall are top 5 in gbs (were #1 last year)...obvs dee hitting GBs is a good thing though....but this is why dee, prado, yelich is such a terrible idea.

May 2, 20179 yr Yeah I agree, maybe we should go back to putting Stanton 3rd. He has had his best years there lol. Hitting Yelich 4th would be interesting but I think it would work. Not crazy about Prado batting 2nd consistently.
May 2, 20179 yr other fun facts: although they're 22nd in ks, marlins are last in MLB in walks. This is all adding up to me as a philosophy approach thing ie hit it where they aint which is just a bunch of groundballs. bring back bonds
