I've worked with a few guys on launch angle and it's a fine balance between mechanics and approach. For instance, prado will always be a high %GB guy because of his approach. Yelly will probably never have a crazy high launch angle because of his lack of tilt. This is fine because his approach allows him to get into good hitters counts. Hech actually does a really nice job of using the Tilt philosophy. However approach wise, well he seems to guess wrong quite a bit. I wouldn't say it's as simple as them not embracing "modern baseball", as it is the type of players we have. Move JT into the 2 slot against RHP and it will mask some of the issues

That's like saying "I'm a virgin except for that night I had sex." That's twisting the narrative in your favor. At least use logic in your negativity please. That depends.
