July 13, 20179 yr Author So phils are so aroused by yelly, their willing to take a tazawa like contract a.k.a bad contract to get him. Not much in phils system tho.
July 13, 20179 yr So the Phils would like to trade us their shitty prospects for Yelich/Stanton and would take back our bad contracts. Just more insulting bs and the price of being a fan of this team. We need two SP's and this team is ready to rock. Unloading Prado, perhaps Dietrich and Ramos and/or Phelps should bring back one decent starter, a free agency signing should bring back another. Plug Anderson in at 3rd. Once Mas buys this team it's a new era. Attendance picks up dramatically with Loria gone. We've got a quality starting 8 that doesn't need to be shredded to build a decent DP staff. And perhaps Conley gets straighten out. Please no core trades. And I do count Dee and Bour as core.

If they could get a really good return for Ozuna then go for it since he probably won't resign anyhow. I really hope we do well in the upcoming series which I think we will. Home stands against Dodgers and Phillies and then off to Cinci. If they can come close to a couple of games under .500 it might deter a more full-fledged fire sell ( though nothing really changed).
July 13, 20179 yr Guys that Rosenthal article was total speculation based on several factors and has not been discussed by any teams and even Rosenthal said it pretty much had no chance of happening. It was the equivalent of a fantasy trade post on these boards.
July 13, 20179 yr Attendance picks up dramatically with Loria gone. False. Same shitty fan base with their shitty excuses. They won't come until a winning team is consistently taking the field.
July 13, 20179 yr Guys that Rosenthal article was total speculation based on several factors and has not been discussed by any teams and even Rosenthal said it pretty much had no chance of happening. It was the equivalent of a fantasy trade post on these boards. Yep but he sure convinced some people. I don't even mean here but globally. Clickbait story.
July 13, 20179 yr False. Same shitty fan base with their shitty excuses. They won't come until a winning team is consistently taking the field. How do you know it !? if the people in the Miami were really so not interested in the baseball even the new owner coming, then a relocation should be considered…
July 13, 20179 yr Author Yea, the whole pairing stanton with yelly isn't happening. But trading yelly is very much so happening.
July 13, 20179 yr How do you know it !? if the people in the Miami were really so not interested in the baseball even the new owner coming, then a relocation should be considered… Because it's been the exact same story here for close to 25 years. Relocation isn't really the answer. There is a market here, it's just an extremely fickle one.
July 13, 20179 yr Yep but he sure convinced some people. I don't even mean here but globally. Clickbait story. And now bleacher report has two separate "articles" or "reports" on it. One saying teams are interested in Stanton another saying the Phillies would like Yelich. It's amazing how shitty reporting and writing have become on the internet. They basically just report obvious facts assumptions or conclusions and try and pass them off as interesting stories. It's the equivalent of posting a report like "Dodgers plan to play the Marlins on Friday"
July 13, 20179 yr Author Mas knows the shitty contracts, barren farm system, etc.. this team has to reset. Whether the current regime or mas group does it. It will happen. And that includes guys we're fond of I.e yelly.

July 13, 20179 yr Considering all the backlash about the possibility of Loria having a fire sale... and considering how anxious people are for a new owner to come in... I would love to see the public reaction if Loria doesn't trade away anyone but then the next owner does. I think I'd pay good money to watch that unfold.
July 13, 20179 yr http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/5-predictions-for-mlbs-second-half/ar-BBEjS3x?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=U305DHP This author stated he doesn't think there will be trading done until the new owner arrives. In particular it was discussing Ozuna. (one line)
July 13, 20179 yr I hope Mas comes to this board and listen to our suggestion how to fix the team, otherwise how in hell is he a billionaire right?
July 13, 20179 yr Yeah suddenly I don't even think we do much at the deadline. It's only 18 days away and we've played better. Im not saying a rebuild isn't coming but there's a chance they stay pretty even come Aug 1st. Or maybe it'll depend more on how desperate other teams will be. This also isn't a typical Loria trade deadline either. He might not care either way so he doesn't "need" to ship everyone out despite what most people think.

This also isn't a typical Loria trade deadline either. He might not care either way so he doesn't "need" to ship everyone out despite what most people think. Also if he sells he has a tremendous gain against any loss generated by the team. And he is going to lose A CHUNK to taxes. This year is different because I believe he feels defeated. Jose is gone, seems to hire the wrong people for positions (FO and ball players), never able to replicate the World Series win (or even come close!), he's hated by most in south Florida and not sure how much he is liked by the baseball owners, and he is getting old! Wonder if Samson is going to be completely different if he stays on. Just doing what Loria wants and not a _____________ that a lot of people think he is.
July 13, 20179 yr Author I wouldn't say no chance necessarily. Mas was a big season ticket holder and a local businessman so he has likely had dealings with Samson in the past and isn't just meeting him. It is possible they get along. True.
July 13, 20179 yr Samson also is pretty good at his actual job of running the non baseball stuff. I'd only want him gone because the public and media associates him with Loria but if he stayed on and did his team president duties it wouldn't bother me.
July 13, 20179 yr For you guys who would like to replace all the proven veteran players with all the unproven prospects, good luck and have a playoff team in five years…
July 13, 20179 yr Do you believe the current roster could win the World Series? If not, they have to change things. Can't get something for nothing. I believe we should take this approach every season.
