December 9, 20178 yr I find it laughable that many on here want to blow up a team that was just a couple of starters away from being a contender. What's even more laughable is you all think Jeter is running things and that these moves will help us win. If you're trying to live in denial by being hopeful, fine. For those wanting to live in reality here goes. Bruce Sherman is a hedge fund guy and he is running the show. He only cares about making money. This team is going to be torn up more than what the reports say. He's just going to wait till the season starts to get rid of more players. You thought Loria was penny pincher wait till you see Sherman! My contacts who know Sherman say he's going to run this to make him money. He could care less about winning I the field so long as he's winning in the bank account. So, get ready to be the Browns of baseball. So how is he going to make money ? This is isn't the NFL which is a socialist club for billionaires....they share everything. MLB does things a lot differently. If he puts a 50 win team on the field year after year he'll have attendance in the dozens instead of the hundreds we have now.
December 9, 20178 yr you dont seem to comprehend the proper way to build a baseball team from the ground up. Yes, we know you're the expert on rebuilding a basball team with all of your experience and all.
December 9, 20178 yr New report is that payroll is to be 55mil not 90 mil. Couple of rough years? Ha! More like perpituity! ??? if everyones traded payroll will be around 30 million
December 9, 20178 yr Pay me for my season tickets and you can do that all day long. so now we see where the feelings extend from. that's your fault for getting season tickets to a team where you can pick any individual game and show up 10 minutes before first pitch and sit wherever you want.
December 9, 20178 yr Yes, we know you're the expert on rebuilding a basball team with all of your experience and all. my experience is more than enough to know that keeping Starlin Castro on a 60 win team for the next 3 years is a stupid and pointless fucking idea.
December 9, 20178 yr my experience is more than enough to know that keeping Starlin Castro on a 60 win team for the next 3 years is a stupid and pointless fucking idea. its not stupid. Are you 2007 Jeffrey Loria?
December 9, 20178 yr Author its not stupid. Are you 2007 Jeffrey Loria? Explain how it isn't stupid. Please.
December 9, 20178 yr He only has 3 years of team control left, his value will never be higher, he will be 33 in 3 years, and we wont be competing at all in the next 3 years. I dont see any way they bring him back if they can get a couple of good prospects for him. They unequivocally have to trade Bour this off season now that Stanton and Gordon are gone. Trading Bour would be the quintessential (and non-Marlins thing) SELL HIGH. I will be so pissed if Ozuna, Bour or Castro are on the 2018 squad
December 9, 20178 yr my experience is more than enough to know that keeping Starlin Castro on a 60 win team for the next 3 years is a stupid and pointless fucking idea. I never mentioned Castro.

I will be so pissed if Ozuna, Bour or Castro are on the 2018 squad i agree. I thought the trade deadline would have been peak value for him and would have been a great move but he got hurt. They will end up trading him to an AL team that loses out on Hosmer I would think.
December 9, 20178 yr Good move, no matter what the prospects are. It's amazing the fake outrage from people in miami claiming that they wont be going to games anymore when we are last in attendance and have bad tv ratings. This is exactly what this franchise needs, and its about time we stop trying to make this core work and start focusing on building a well rounded organization from the bottom up. There is no choice that Jeter and company have, this needs to be a complete teardown and rebuild. Do it the right way and dont worry about fans who dont understand the bigger picture. It's not like this team is anywhere near contending if they kept the team together. WE would just continue to toil in mediocrity. We have an average at best major league roster, 0 minor league talent, and are losing millions upon millions of dollars a year. This is a great step in the right direction. We need to stink for a year and build this the way the past 2 world series champs have done it. Where's that great haul ? We waited and we are still trying to see it...... :DudeComeOn-min:
December 9, 20178 yr Its funny some of you are calling for everyone to be traded, like you work for Jeter or own part of the team.Trading everyone benefits none but Jeter/Sherman.
December 9, 20178 yr Where's that great haul ? We waited and we are still trying to see it...... :DudeComeOn-min: he blocked 2 trades that would have gotten us a good haul for him. and this trade with the yankees isnt terrible depending on what we end up getting for Castro. Guzman is now one of, if not our top prospect, not that that's any type of accomplishment.
December 9, 20178 yr Its funny some of you are calling for everyone to be traded, like you work for Jeter.Trading everyone benefits none but Jeter. it benefits the future of the franchise and the rebuilding efforts that you dont seem to understand.

December 9, 20178 yr Author Its funny some of you are calling for everyone to be traded, like you work for Jeter or own part of the team.Trading everyone benefits none but Jeter/Sherman. Holding onto a guy like Castro for two losing seasons makes zero sense to anyone with a working brain.
December 9, 20178 yr Author I also do not see peanuts like some said in here Anyone expecting the team to send back Planters was stupid anyway.
