I wouldn't mind getting Chavis because we've needed an answer for 3B since Mike Lowell left but he's a little old to be in High A/AA still and he's not exactly killing it, but showing some nice power. Groome has been a top prospect for a couple years now but the guy had tommy john surgery and is out for all of 2018 and maybe part of 2019. You never know with that. Sometimes they come back better and stronger, sometimes they can't recover and are never the same anymore.
July 26, 20188 yr Chavis had 3 disappointing seasons, had an amazing breakout season last year, and then was busted for roids. Sketchy, Groome is all projection, hasn't had any minor league success yet and just had Tommy John. Neither of these guys should be the only piece coming back for Steckenrider.

July 26, 20188 yr A 22-year old bust? A 22 year old who can't hit the strike zone. Bust in the sense that he was thought of as a can't miss prospect coming into the year. I'm not sure he is there right now. He might still find a place in the bullpen? but as a starter so far he has given no indication that he could be that.

I say those two are too low too.

July 27, 20188 yr Cantu just called and said "Check 2008 bitch" Yeah, really, his 2008 and 2009 seasons were really solid. Combined for 4.3 WAR those two years, may have been even more in 2009 had he not moved back to third base, if we're being honest.

I think it was May 23rd- a special day for a special boy... I digress. Cantu keeps tossing a ball to the same woman and her mother after every inning I think. Eventually he comes out to start an inning and tosses her a ball, and it had his fucking number on it. The mother starts laughing, and the lady- probably early 30's, high fives her. All I thought at the time was... "Look at this crater faced fucking millionaire pulling hoes, if only I lost some weight or had some money." Eventually the owners of the seat came back. The End.

July 27, 20188 yr I'm kinda disappointed that Bour didn't do better this season and show a bit more power to increase his value. It's asinine if they don't move Claw because his value will never be higher than it is now. Ziegler will be gone for the first offer that comes back that assumes all his salary. Will be nice to get him off the payroll. I'm guessing any of the rumored offers for him have required the Marlins to assume some of his salary or else he would be outta here. Dietrich has more value to the Marlins than anything they'd get back in a trade for him. Straily...meh, this seems like a dude that our illustrious GM would try to acquire (hello, Cashner). I don't think there'll be much action surrounding him. If they do move him it will be another salary clearing move with very minimal returns. JT - he ain't going anywhere unless someone with a top farm system overpays massively. Conley - i think he's going to end up being a dominant reliever and soon although he's fooled me before because I also thought he was going to be a good #3 or ok #2 starter at one point and he regressed terribly. Not sure what his issue is but he looks way better out of the pen as a max effort guy. I think his value will go up if we hang onto him longer but whatever, he's a reliever and that's usually the easiest spot to fill on any roster. In short, if they trade him I think they'll get something back that will make the deal look terrible in the near future. He's just so hard to figure out. Steck - a lot of interest in him due to the length of team control and solid performance. If a team wants to overpay then sure. Otherwise he's probably more valuable to the Fish. Castro - see ya. Return will be minimal though. If I had to guess I'm going to say Ziegler, Castro, Conley, and Claw will be moved by the deadline. I don't see Steckenrider, JT, Bour, or Straily moving.
