Wow.

 

I've got issues with it. 

 

The fish and the ball look great and are a subtle throwback to the original primary logo.

 

But the lettering in Miami is weird. The letters are disjointed. They look like separate letters connected instead of one flowing script. It's bad cursive. Rmcs letters were better.

 

And, a minor thing, but all the darkness is troubling. I like it on the cap logo but I'd have colored the Miami blue on the wordmark. We've got great colors I'm afraid they wont use them enough.

The cursive is very close to the Cardinals script.  The cardinals don’t space their lettering out as much though.  Perhaps because Miami is a short word they’re doing that to take up space.  If they have a Marlins script maybe it will be tighter like the Cards

I would assume so. We haven't seen the Marlins script yet and I am 99.9% sure there will be one.

It’s fine here.  I like the laces on the primary logo.  But it would eliminate any pink merchandising options.   Red marlins hat anyone?

I am hoping there is just a blue and black hat. But seeing as the orange merch sold well, it wouldn't surprise me if there is a red one.

Probably meaning for caps, that it's on all caps, home road and alt. I doubt that is referring to jerseys.

Good point. Maybe I'll get used to this script later on. Also, my complaint about it being too dark is probably not helped by it being on a white background. Again, application is key and it's possible we almost never see this on a white background.

I like the colors so much more then what we have. The way they use the red makes it stand out less. Might not be the best they could have come up with but I’ll wear a Miami gear a lot more in the future with this style than the 2012 look.

I'm inclined to agree but seeing it may change my mind.  I was fiddling around with scripts of different styles (nothing worth posting) and colors and the blue didn't impress me as much as I was expecting them to

 

 

I think it is safe to assume the Marlins played around with all the logos and scripts in every team color and went with the look that worked best. On paper, more blue sounds great. In practice, I have found this look to be the best one.

I like the script. If I had to guess, we are getting a Home white,, Road gray, and a blue alt. The way red is used as an accent I’d be mildly surprised if they do a red alternate, atleast for now. 

 

 

Small sample size and all that....I just showed these latest images to my wife who cares very little about baseball...let alone the minutia of the uniform scene....and her comment was "oh!  Looks nice".

 

 

I’m curious also if we will get some Stadium renovation announcements with the logo reveal. Would be a good time to announce if they plan on changing the walls or doing some painting and what not. I’m wondering if they will keep the colored sections around the lower bowl since it doesn’t really jive with the new look.

They are doing a lot of "ballpark enhancements" this off-season, but they haven't specified of all them. I wouldn't be surprised if what you mentioned happens.

I've actually heard home white, road gray, black alternate, and the blue is the bp/spring training jersey.
