Doing some quick sketches in my down time and I'm not convinced the fish looks better in blue. It's not detailed enough for it. The way it's designed it's pretty clearly meant to be seen in darkness (at night) with just glimpses of color reflecting off of it. Coloring the fish blue destroys the intended effect. Starting to convince myself the team already tried these changes in the design process and that black really was the best option within the confines of what they want.

I've seen it and there isn't enough contrast for me. It looks like the logo for a seafood restaurant that can't afford to pay to light the sign. 

 

 

using @SonOfJack hex color ID, the complete pallet (assuming the same ocean blue and back as is currently used),the colors combos are looking good. I've come around on the logo design.  I'm getting there.  Just want to see the full execution.  it has potential

This whole thing has gotten me more fired up about the team for some reason. I can't explain it but a refresh of the branding really feels like a new chapter.

I like the one on the right.  I hope they just stick to a teal and black/silver logo and dont force the colors.

 

 

Something I also thought of.....it fits with the "Just gettin started" thing where they used black as the background for it.

The timing of this logo diversion is perfect.  The Mesa's are still making up their mind.  The playoff are still ongoing which means all eliminated teams are making no news.  It's a good time to build anticipation for a reveal, and then dive into winter transaction season where we can resume the regularly scheduled programming of freaking out over trades

I like this. Could use a bit more blue but I like that it's mostly black and blue and that the pink is just the accent color. I don't want them pushing the pink too hard like pink caps and jerseys.

Yea. The colors open up nice merchandising ideas.  The pink would do well for t shirts.  Obviously black and blue hats. 

 

 

I enlarged the cap pick and I'm go ahead and say it's not pink it's the same orange. Remember our orange is a reddish shade so in low quality images and in bad lighting it can easily appear pinkish. It also looks like the bottom side of the fish is silver. So I'm gonna say they removed yellow but kept the exact same color scheme just rearranging the balance and elevating blue while limiting the orange to an accent. This might work better than just switching to blue and pink. 

 

It's pink in my opinion.

I can dig pink, I'd like orange (subtle nod to the original primary logo's orange stitches and the 2012 orange). Either way, this logos grown on me to the point where, dare I say it. I'll be disappointed in anything else, even retaining the 2012-2018 set?
