What do we do at the deadline

Featured Replies

Urena won't be eligible to be traded.

Chen, Grandy, Castro, Conley all have no value.

Zac Gallen does not belong in the minors.

Hernandez has shown to be at least a solid mlb starter with his super spin slider.

Rojas, Dean, maybe Riddle, all have value at some level.

Nick Anderson is our only real trade piece, maybe guerrero if you want to go that direction.

What do you do?

We could move one of the high floor starters I.E. Richards or Smith?

We could start to trade problem children, Dean for el tortuga or the like.

We could do nothing, though I'm not sure that's the best idea, personally.

What should we do?

Romo's going somewhere, Walker, Castro, Granderson will all get us some C- prospect.

I can’t see any contending team wanting a .180 hitter or even Castro for that matter.  Especially if they have to pick up part of his contract.  Walker should bring in something though.

Walker and Romo for sure should go. Anderson should be shopped for the right deal. Smith and Richards you dont shop but should hear out any offers.

I myself will do nothing special that day except go to work and probably come home and watch some Netflix.

you work on July 31st ? I thought leechers I mean teachers have the summer off

Let's not get too excited here. I think we should hold off on selling low on Anderson. This is his second year in the league he is 24, still cheap, he is only going to get better. Let's wait a bit.

I think there is something to be said for shopping Smith, and Richards. I think there is also an argument to be made that both are off limits. I think this should come down to your plans in the next year or so.

Something tells me he meant Nick Anderson. Which I agree with, if we can get someone decent back for Nick Anderson, go for it.

We have lots of prospects already, so how about just to keep some "important and useful" veterans, I believe all the good teams were succeeded with some veterans.

The veterans we have aren't important or useful. Get more prospects.

When we are a championship team, the prospects and young guys we have now will be the important and useful veterans. Veteran players do not have to be "old" like a Granderson or Walker.

Exactly. Guys like Granderson or Walker are great to have around right now for their leadership qualities, but 99% chance they're nowhere near the team when it's good.

Would love to keep Granderson around as a coach after the year if he doesn't get any playing offers.
