Just losing Stanton, Realmutto and seeing how the ballpark was dismantled killed it for me. I'm still a Marlins Fan, but theres only so many times I can see a repeat of 1998, 2006, 2012 and still find hope.

They actually briefly mentioned that in the Panthers game last night (sucks that Ekblad fractured his leg).......that's for the app though.  What I'm unclear on is whether the Fox Sports app will just update and become BSF when you update, or if it's a completely new app to download.  They say "all-new" which leans toward a new app to download, but also say "replace" which could be interpreted as an update....either way that doesn't tell me what website I'd have to go to on a computer.

Eh, it was likely their only chance to dump that massive contract since he was coming off an MVP year. They couldn't wait and take the chance of a down year or injury filled year.

With his track record of power and the fact the Marlins ate salary anyway..... I bet teams that can’t sign FA would have made a run for him. I’ve wanted one more hear himself which is why he declined the trade to STL and SF. 
 

he would have ended up a yankee or dodger regardless, but there would have been suitors.

$30M out of the remaining $295M guaranteed (could be $310M but doubt the Yanks exercise that team option at the end of the deal). Basically 10%. That's hardly eating salary, and on top of that, we aren't even paying any of it until 2026, which by then we might have an even better TV and ballpark naming rights deal.

The team was bought with massive debt. We weren't going to keep up with anyone. No winning seasons with that core and he didn't want to be part of another rebuild and I don't blame him for that.

You might not like that it happened, but hell, look where the team is now. I'm not even going to count last year's playoff run, just check our farm system, check the talent now up in the big leagues, and see that this team is going to be exciting for a WHILE. TV deal and ballpark naming rights, more money coming in. We'll have the WBC back in 2023 too so even more money there.
