It makes perfect sense to keep Max in the minors. Lewin... Maybe not. But they need to make a trade first. Likely if Lewin keeps tearing then Aguilar gets traded at the deadline for bullpen help.

If Aguilar continues at this pace (I don't expect him to, but worst case) then that bullpen help will be in A+ ball. 😕

We'd be lucky to get a bullpen catcher for Aguilar at this point.

I know he'll hit better eventually.  My problem with him is that I think he's lost some power. He just doesn't hit HR's like he did before.

On top of that, he's average defensively and slow on the bases.  I think Lewin's defense alone is worth starting over Aguilar right now.

His power bit is weird because again, he did this for the first month+ last year too. It looks like he'd absolutely tag a ball and it wouldn't last even reach the warning track. Then he got going and was fine the rest of the way. Maybe that's just him? No idea if he needs a month or so to warm up or whatever it is but it's exactly like last season. He's also better at first than Cooper is. Cooper looks like he's less lumber...err...limber than an Ent over there. He's just super stiff when he moves.

I'd be in favor of letting Lewin play at first full time though but I'd prefer they trade Aguilar instead of Cooper and I think they have a love affair with Aguilar so I dont see that happening.

I agree with this. Cooper is the better hitter and I'd rather keep him. Although, he's so injury prone that maybe it's best to move him instead. They're sort of interchangeable, so whatever.

He's injury prone but full time DH should help limit that a bit. He's cringeworthy every time I see him at first. I'd be 100% on board with Lewin full time at first and that way Cooper is always the DH. Get those roles defined. Don would likely still play Cooper at first though like 2x a week to get him "in the game" more and then he'd get injured.

Don: "Alright. I'm reluctant, but, Coop, you're the full time DH now."

Cooper, muffled, due to the bubble the team got him as a birthday gift: "Gosh that sounds swell, Skip."

Don: "No, I can't smell anything. Go out there and get em, kid."

Cooper: (rolls to the plate with a large grin and steps out of the bubble)

Don, shouting from the dugout: "Oh, hey, Coop!"

Cooper: "Yes si-- aAhhhhhhHhHHH!" (Cooper turns towards the dugout and suffered back spasms)

Don: "... shit."

is this a sponsored post?

Fun fact, the Astros owner told Monsanto (who made the synthetic turf we now call AstroTurf) that he was going to charge them the exact cost of the synthetic turf to advertise it, so they essentially got the turf for free.

Ughh... Meyer got roughed up tonight for 6 runs... ERA up to 2.97

Jerar Encarnacion is hitting .366 with 8 HRs in AA... yet they promote JD Orr from High A ball over him... makes you wonder if the FO actually pays attention to the minor leagues

You can put the Meyer talk to the Marlins back to at least June from this!

Yea that's gonna make Kim think she was right about him needing more time. I'm telling ya, there's more and more reason to doubt he even comes up this year at all.

Yet they all said he was almost major league ready when he was drafted... smdh
