June 4, 20224 yr now that he's been sent down this means Ng can actually focus on a different task now?

I’m basing that opinion on recent history of the Marlins FO (Duggar, Yamamoto, Castano continuously given chance after chance and never really improving that much, especially the first two.) I wouldn’t be surprised if Elieser is back on the Marlins by July if not earlier.

June 5, 20224 yr Reality is that Garrett better pitch well in this time in the Majors because he is quickly running out of chances at the MLB level at this point.

June 6, 20224 yr I'm days late on this but I was reading that they used Bleier as an opener on Friday so that Elieser wouldn't have to face the lineup three times. But if you're gonna just do one reliever and then go to that starter immediately after then why couldn't they have let Elieser start and then just pull him as soon as the order comes up for the third time? Seems like they aren't using the opener right and are just overcomplicating the point of not letting Elieser face the opponents three times.

Seems like they aren't using the opener right and are just overcomplicating the point of not letting Elieser face the opponents three times. The idea of the Opener, as I understand it, is to try and neutralize the opposition's best hitters [usually 1 - 5] the first time through and then let the starter/bulk guy start on batter 6 or 7 which makes it an easier time for them to get settled and into a rhythm. Usually you need a guy who has the stuff of a closer [maybe Bender!] or a platoon advantage and have them in basically a very low leverage spot [first inning or two] and get those outs to then have the bulk guy take the next five innings at least. Didn't really work out cause Elieser got hit hard immediately and ended up facing some guys 4 times I think ... lol. Either way ... it's a strategy that definitely requires a smarter manager. Bleier probably should have started the second inning to face Pederson before they brought in Elieser, but, it's Don.

Thats why it was such a stupid mornoic idiotic strategy from the start.
June 6, 20224 yr They should have traded Elieser during the offseason when there was actually interest in him.
