i didn't want to think it was him because of his fancy flashy shoes he's known to wear but the rest of him is 100% business. As much as I love the guy - I kinda feel like when Don goes he'll go as well.  I haven't seen/heard anyone come to his defense yet though.  Apparently it's 2-0 Jazz at this point based on Cooper and Big Dick Bleier. 

Everything Mish was saying about MiggyRo was typical Mish. There was no clear evidence, just Mish thinking stuff up based on “what he’s heard.” 

He also heard there was no way we were trading Adam Duvall to the Braves.

yeah so far i'm about 15min in and he just keeps saying "if i had to guess...." or "in my opinion..."

so no real news in this...just more conjecture

It's Adam Duvall.

around 20 minutes in he says that he had an incredibly difficult and very uncomfortable discussion with Miggy but wouldn't specifically what it was about - one of those situations where you have to reiterate over and over how much he respects Rojas as a player, person, etc but this conversation was.....bad.....

Pulling my own Mish here, I would conjecture to say that Rojas is EXTREMELY  UNhappy with someone on the team or maybe the "personality" of the team itself.  I guess this is the piece @EricOwens!was referring to.

 

I am just going to say that the truth is probably nowhere near where the media, whether that be local or national press, or even guys like Mish are telling us. I doubt it ever comes out clearly to us fans. Maybe when the investigators finish their report on the train wreck of a season...

what I'm taking away from the entirety of the podcast is that Miggy realizes he's on his way out and towards the tail end of his career and the team isn't really his anymore.  Jazz is the popular player - Sandy is now kind of taking over as the captain and Miguel is losing his spot as the grizzled vet. 

Now a lot of this is based on what Mish has been saying but my wife and I both had the exact same feeling.  I could kinda see that in a way. It's a natural reaction to have in life. Currently he's discussing that when Jeter came to the team, he pushed for Miggy to become the leader and empowered him to really captain the team and the team has had a lot of change the last couple years so that Miggy, again, does not have the same sway with the team as he used to.

I'm sorry but I refuse to believe Miggys problem is with Jazzs clothes, Miggy is almost just as flashy with his shoes and things like that. I would think he appreciates Jazzs clothes. Something else led to this and we don't know what it is yet. 

Jeter left and the players who weren't in love with Jeter's "be a hard ass professional 100% of the time" style have loosened up their behavior... Rojas sees himself as the remaining defender of the Jeter way and is struggling to keep it alive with Jeter gone and it's created a rift because Rojas doesn't have the power to enforce this.

Colorful personality aside Jazz seems to work hard and play hard and gets results so there are several things to Jazz that actually do seem to maintain the Jeter style so it's unclear what the specific issue is with Jazz and we also don't know if there are other players having the issue along with Jazz.

I really do think a large part of it is the changing of the guard (not just tied to Jeter's "ultra pro" style either).  Miggy was indeed the clear leader of the team but that's loosened a bit even since before Jeter's departure.  It's human nature to have a hard time when you lose your status as the Alpha or it starts to wane a bit and you get replaced by someone else, whether it's Sandy, Jazz, etc.  - doesn't matter.  It stings a little bit.  Shoot, i've gone through something similar myself at work over the last 6 months.  It sucks! You try and find faults with the person who seemingly replaced you or nitpick at things that don't suit what you see should be the expected norm.  I think it's a large part of what's happening here.  It doesn't make Miggy a bad person. If he's the pro we all think he is then I believe it will iron itself out in due time.  If Don gets axed I also think Miggy might hang 'em up too at seasons end or ask to be released to go play for another team perhaps for a fresh start (I don't know the length of his contract offhand).  

Anyway, just a hunch. 

Rojas should focus on playing better and not gatekeeping whatever it is he's gatekeeping.

Seriously, this is why the leader of each team should be one of its best players. I can never understand the Udonis Haslems or even Miguel Rojases.... Like holy shit I wouldn't get up on a soapbox and attempt to set standards when I'm not setting standards on the field as a top player.

It's why I have no affection for Rojas the way I did for players like Uggla or Pudge. I think his impact is overblown and we could do without him.

For what it's worth, I think Jazz is a massive headache waiting to happen. He's too loose and clown-ish, but I don't think there's anyone on this team that has the right to set a standard for him.

If Rojas does ask to be released, how many teams would he be a starter for?

I feel like this whole thing is a lie to be honest.

The meeting was about off the field things and the media just ran with it and made it all about Jazz. There’s no way the whole 90 minute meeting was directed at Jazz, but that’s what the media wants us to believe.
