As an aside, during Covid lockdowns, I rewatched this game, incredibly boring for what?  7 innings?

The picture quality from 1997 to 2020 is incredible, just crazy how far tech has come in terms of picture quality and what not!

But those last few innings were quite fun and more than made up for the first 6-7 shit innings of pure boredom only made tolerable because it was the first game 7 I actually gave a fuck about.

I just celebrated 20 years on this iteration fo this little blog.

Someone needs to check the archives to see if this place existed prior to 1993, I want to say sometime around 1992 though.

I remember joining back when this was part of the 'official' site back in the days of Compuserve, Prodigy, AOL and all other dialup by the minute internet sources.

It then moved around a couple of times until matriculating to this.

the picture quality is a bit misleading as the old footage looks way better on an older CRT tv like nearly everyone had back in the 90s. it has a lot to do with interlacing and scan lines versus the pixels we have on LCD/Oled tvs nowadays.  There's a decent market for quality CRT sets for people who like to retro game on them as the games look crazy better than they do on modern sets (modern as in any LCD and beyond).

No, not saying the picture quality isn't any better but it's just not as bad as it comes across on the older videos.  I mean some stuff looks literally almost impossible to watch it looks so awful on a modern set and you're left wondering how you were able to see anything back then.

I remember seeing that walk off hit. And I remember the previous pitch when the pitcher came inside and Renteria kind of played it up a little bit like he was really shaken up a little bit by the close pitch. I thought that he was going to look for the next pitch outside. I was happy for the win and felt very proud to have to have seen that hit coming, which the pitcher didn't. 😊
