That would be my first choice. But I think I read somewhere that after his bid to buy the Cubs fell through because basically the majority of other MLB owners collectively decided they didn’t want him to join the club as an MLB team owner, he was so put off by the whole process that he vowed to never buy a baseball team or something to that effect. I’ll see if I can reference that.

Late to this thread but when I read the initial report I immediately knew it wasn't likely to be true as Bruce has said he wasn't selling several times very recently. Right away I felt that was a false report and I never got my hopes up. 

Of course he could change his mind whenever and tbh the day he does decide to sell it'll likely come unexpectedly but it really doesn't feel like that's gonna be any time soon.

For better or worse Sherman is gonna want at least one good run of relative success at some point before he sells and he doesn't seem to be the kind to bail early like Jeter did.

Long story short, we're stuck with this guy for a while as he has no reason to sell yet.

We all know the only reason Sherman got the team was because of the Jeter association.  Otherwise he wouldn't have been in contention.

Sherman got the team for 1.2 Billion reasons, which was about 300 Million more than John Ruiz.

If I remember correctly, Ruiz didn't have the solvency to purchase the team even at his 900 Million Number. MLB sold to Jeter because he set a new baseline for a team, and every other team became more valuable.

When will he be anywhere near public transportation? The only way I see him being hit by a bus is if hes looking to purchase one to cut back on charter flights.

I anticipate a year or two from now Bruce selling. He's looked to see what the value of his franchise is on the open market. When the Mets sold for what they did, then the Suns- this is a appreciating asset. He'd be dumb not to send some feelers out. I really hope the next time its not an ownership group. Find that one dude with an axe to grind against Cohen and set him loose.

I think the Mas group was close too though - like 1.17B is what was reported.  Sure Sherman/Jeter's bid was more money, but you think the Yankee connection didn't sway Lora's discount Steinbrenner complex to that group with the numbers so close?

We joke about him making money, but I wonder if the potential Bally's bankruptcy and affect on TV deal payments could play a factor in him considering a sale?
