Michael
Quote It is uncertain whether such a record MLB bid would have materialized. The Washington Nationals have not found a buyer despite being up for sale since April. The Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins could go up for sale soon, according to MLB sources who declined to be identified, and the Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays have yet to secure the new ballpark that each team has sought for more than a decade. https://www.latimes.com/sports/angels/story/2023-01-23/arte-moreno-no-longer-selling-angels Interesting .............

SonOfJack
Look at this, the only subject that has us all in 100% agreement. Well until @pollythewog comes in and takes the opposing argument just to fuck that up.

Since we thought we couldn't downgrade from Loria and were all proven wrong - who would be worse than Sherman?

rmc523
This would be awesome if true, but if Sherman has proven, it's that the grass isn't always greener.....but hey, that farm system, am I right??? Edited January 24 by rmc523

rmc523
But yeah, we need a Cohen-type owner that's willing to eat losses and spend a ton and give people a reason to come out to the park. Attendance will follow that investment (and hopefully associated on-field success), which is something that Sherman & Co failed to realize, and/or can't do. We all know the only reason Sherman got the team was because of the Jeter association. Otherwise he wouldn't have been in contention.
