If that's how it's calculated, though, that's sort of a dumb metric because as we know, you can have a few blowout losses and close/1-run wins that puts you way in the negative.....on paper it looks like all your losses are by 4 runs, when they're not.

It's pretty much over considering the beat down the Braves are about to unleash on the Marlins.  The starting rotation is too thin now.  Fun season overall.

Literally can NEVER have enough quality starting pitching. If you have "too much" then you move one or two to the bp. Simple as that.

We have the same issue EVERY year (granted, every team does).  And while we have had to trade away to upgrade at other positions (pablo), at least this year they tried to address it via Cueto, instead of ignoring it like years past.

Daily playoff probability is stupid. It'll go down with two losses but then win two games and it goes right back up. It just fluctuates too easily for me to care about daily. It's like a weather vane. 

I was surprised they got back into it at all after torpedoing their chances post ASG but I do feel as if this putrid last series is the final nail in their 2023 coffin. 

I know some will disagree with me but performances like this were also why I wasnt overly thrilled with acquiring Burger and Bell at the deadline as I felt we needed guys who were a bit more consistent with getting on bases and who could run a little bit.  We saw recently what it's like when the power all clicks at once and they went on that hot streak but then...you kinda see the downside as with that power comes a lot of off nights too and then we can't score for shit and lose games.

This lineup has been boom or bust for a few years now (mostly bust).  Bringing in Arraez was a good start but we need a couple more guys in the lineup who can also make solid contact and who aren't slow as molasses in January.  This is also why I said they'd be ok letting Soler go if they found a guy with the good contact, high obp% and speed profile (but low power numbers as a tradeoff). 

MLB makes it easier than ever to steal bases and what's the gameplan by our great GM and new coach?  bring in two painfully slow guys at the deadline. one who was only a tiny bit over .300 obp and the other who was under .300obp.  y'all can say we needed their power all you want but this lineup needed more athleticism, contact, and speed.  meanwhile, Skip totally abandons the idea of stealing bases or even putting guys in motion which leads to a ridiculous amount of dps. 

once again, i'll go into the offseason hoping someone finally sees what needs to be done to fix this goddamn offense
