Would be so Marlins in 2025 to have him do both.

One would think you’re interviewing for a job with the team with ideas like that lol.

Kyle’s pretty good on radio. TV we’ll see, but he’s young so hopefully a guy who can grow with the team or something. I remember I didn’t like Waltz at all when he started and he turned out great.

Yeah, I think most people are creatures of habit, so any sort of change like this will ruffle feathers.

We’ll see. I won’t be watching regardless with the dumpster fire they have going on yet again.

i like Kyle on radio a lot. Do radio guys transfer well to broadcast? It’s typically better to leave more space + talk less on tv

Nobody told Holly that.......to my point.

I posted this in the Spring Training thread too, but it's relevant here as well....

Additional details on Marlins TV and radio hosts:

https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/article299659189.html

Kyle Sielaff is the new TV play by play guy (we knew this)

Jack McMullen (former Pirates triple A announcer) is the Marlins new radio voice - he'll do radio play by play for 120 games

Craig Minervini will split radio play by play in 35 games will call up to 15 games when Seilaff is off, and will still do pre/post game coverage.

For 127 games, radio analysts will include AJ Ramos, Gaby Sanchez, Jeff Nelson and Kelly Saco

Tommy Hutton will be an analyst for 60 home games, with Rod Allen (ugh), Gaby, and Nelson rounding out the other 100 or so games.

Craig Minervini, Orioles announcer Geoff Arnold and Seilaff were the finalists for the tv play by play job.

funny how once they broke up Tommy and Rich they've never been able to find a duo that actually work together well since then and it's just been a revolving door for the most part.

Minervini on play-by-play? Ugh...

Agreed - they should've brought Rich back....shouldn't have gotten rid of him to begin with.

Paul got better as time went on, but just felt like a national broadcaster covering a local team, IMO. Lets hope Seilaff does well....then again, I won't be watching regardless lol.....complete 180 from when I used to watch every minute of the losing with Rich and Tommy making it entertaining.

Yeah, I've never understood why they keep trying to force that. Stepping in in an emergency (someone sick last minute or something) is one thing, but consistently in the booth......eh....

Correct on Paul.

Can't wait for game 100 and we get a walk off homerun, Sielaff goes crazy, his clip is shown on MLB and everyone laughs at us now that we are 30-70 on the season. He is fun, but so over the top on many calls. I have like all of our main guys, tv and radio, over the years. Some of the backup guys -not always.

It is his job to keep that excitement going regardless of record. What's he supposed to do? Sound depressed?
